In the past, The Pokémon Company created some anime shorts to promote upcoming Pokémon games: Pokémon Black and White got one, for example. And it turns out there will be one this year… several in fact! For the 20th Anniversary of the Pokémon series, The Pokémon Company announced the Pokémon Generations anime shorts, which will be

The first two episodes will be available on Friday, at the following time:

  • Europe: 6PM
  • UK: 5PM
  • North America (EST): 12PM
  • North America (PST): 9AM
  • Japan: 1AM (Saturday)

As the name implies, the Pokémon Generations series takes a look at all generations of the Pokémon series, showcasing the story and the charaters of each. There will be a total of 18 episodes (3 to 5 minutes each), with new episodes uploaded regularly until December 23rd.

New Nintendo 3DS XL

In Europe and Japan, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are going to release a special New Nintendo 3DS XL model for Pokémon Sun and Moon: it’s all black, with an artwork of Solgaleo and Lunala on it. It wasn’t announced for North America, but Nintendo confirmed today that this special model would indeed be released in North America.

Called “Solgaleo Lunala Black Edition”, this special model will launch on October 28th in North America, where it will cost $199.99. Naturally, it doesn’t include any game! In the press release, Nintendo also mentions the Pokémon Sun and Moon Dual Pack, sold $79.99, which include a copy of both games and 2 codes for 100 PokéBalls.
