PokéNews (April 6) – Pokémon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution / Pokémon GO

Today’s Pokémon news: ending theme revealed for Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, but also…

  • Pokémon GO
  • Pokémon Sun and Moon (anime)

Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution

The Pokémon Company have announced that the ending theme of Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, the latest movie, will be “Kaze to Issho ni” (lit. “Together with the Wind”). Long time fans of the Pokémon series who watched the first Pokémon movie in Japanese will probably notice that it’s the same title as the ending theme for that movie… because it is!

For Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, the creators decided to go with a new version of the ending theme from the original movie, this time sung by Sachiko Kobayashi (a famous Enka singer who sung the original version of the ending theme) and by Shouko Nakagawa (well known Pokémon fan, involved in many Pokémon projects). The song will feature a new arrangement by Seiji Kameda.

The CD for the ending theme will be released on July 10th, 2 days before the movie itself. Several versions will be available:

  • CD + DVD (2 408 Yen), with some goodies, a digipack, and a Pokémon-themed jacket
  • CD (1 839 Yen), with a digipack, and a Pokémon-themed jacket
  • CD (1 204 Yen)

Pokémon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution opens on July 12th in Japan.
