Pokémon Pokopia launches this March worldwide, will ship on Game Key Card + new trailer this Thursday

First revealed during the Nintendo Direct in September, Pokémon Pokopia finally has a release date. It will launch on March 5th worldwide, and quite surprisingly, it will ship on a Game Key Card (unlike all other first-party releases on Nintendo Switch 2 so far).

And related to this announcement, Nintendo shared a short video explaining how Game Key Cards work:

In Japan, Pokémon Pokopia will be quite pricey: 8,980 Yen (as opposed to $69.99 in North America, and 69.99€ / £58.99 in Europe). Digital pre-orders are now live, with physical pre-orders kicking off on November 13th.

Looking forward to learn more about the game? A brand new trailer will debut on Thursday, November 13th at the following time:

  • Europe: 3PM
  • UK: 2PM
  • North America (ET): 9AM
  • North America (PT): 6AM
  • Japan: 11PM

Here’s the YouTube embed for the premiere (Japan-only so far, but English trailer should go live at the same time):

Pokémon Pokopia: Play as a Ditto – who has transformed to look like a human – to shape an empty land into a beautiful space for a variety of Pokémon. Learn new moves from Pokémon you meet to expand and create a paradise. Collect berries, rocks and wood, build furniture, grow vegetables in fields you’ve tilled, create homes for Pokémon you meet, and more! Pokémon Pokopia takes shape on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Pre-orders for the digital version will be available on Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store beginning Nov. 12.

Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2) comes out on March 5th worldwide.
