Pokémon news (March 15) – Pokémon Shuffle: new stages/challenges

Today’s Pokémon news:

Today, some new stages/challenges went live:

  • a High-Speed Challenge featuring Noivern, available until March 29th in both Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile;
  • a new Pokémon Safari featuring: Hoothoot, Noctowl, Houndour, Houndoom, Pineco, Forretress, and Noibat, available until March 29th in both Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile;
  • the Landorus stage is now available in Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, until March 22nd. It can only be played once a day, and every time you play it, its catch rate goes up;
  • the Rotom Daily Stages are back in Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile. They can only be played during week days.

Also, rewards are being sent out for the Mega Charizard challenge. Here’s what you can get, depending on your overall rank:

  1. Top 1,200 players in Europe, Top 2,000 players in North America, Top 5,000 players in Japan: Charizardite Y + Mega Speedup
  2. Top 12,000 players in Europe, Top 20,000 players in North America, Top 50,000 players in Japan: Charizardite Y
  3. Top 18,000 players in Europe, Top 30,000 players in North America, Top 80,000 players in Japan: Attack Power
  4. Top 10,000 players worldwide (Mobile): Charizardite Y + Mega Speedup
  5. Top 100,000 players worldwide (Mobile): Charizardite Y
  6. Top 150,000: Attack Power
  7. Not ranked: Disruption Delay

You have until March 22nd (6AM UTC) to get your reward by using the check-in feature in-game.

Special Dragonite distribution

If you participated in the Kanto Classic Battle Competition last month, you can now get your Special Dragonite (based on the very Dragonite Lance has in Pokémon Red Version, Green Version, and Blue Version. It knows the move Barrier, that it cannot normally learn). You have until April 27th 2016 (11.59PM UTC) in order to get your Pokémon, via a serial code given to you on the Pokémon Global Link.

Battle competition

Today, a new battle competition was announced for Japan, called the Japan Championships 2016 Qualifiers. We don’t know what the entry gift will be, but we do know that the competition is a way for Japanese players to try and qualify for the Pokémon World Championships. Here’s the rules:

  • Battles: Double Battles
  • Rules: VGC rules
  • Legendary Pokémon allowed (max. 2): Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde
  • Registration: April 4th to April 28th
  • Battles: April 28th to May 1st

Pokémon TCG

On March 19th, there will be a special event at participating Target stores from 11AM to 2PM. If you go there, you will be able to:

  • get a shiny Magikarp Pokémon TCG card
  • get a Pikachu hat
  • take a picture with Pikachu and Hawlucha

What’s more, Target stores will also be the first to sell the Pokémon TCG: Red & Blue Collection—Charizard-EX, featuring the Pokémon TCG: Generations expansion.
