Pokkén Tournament (Ver. 1.3)
Today, a brand new update for Pokkén Tournament was announced. It will be released next week (on June 15th), and will bring the game to Ver. 1.3. There will not be any new features, but instead, the game will receive quite a lot of balance fixes.
Here’s the changelog:
- balance fixes for Battle Pokémon (Lucario, Pikachu, Machamp, Gardevoir, Weavile, Suicune, Charizard, Gengar, Blaziken, Pikachu Libre, Sceptile, Chandelure, Braixen, Garchomp, Mewtwo, and Shadow Mewtwo)
- balance fixes for Support Pokémon (Snivy, Croagunk, Magneton, Quagsire, Diglett, Yveltal, Latios, and Cresselia).
You can find the details about the balance fixes on this page!
To download this update (which will be required to play online), you will have two options:
- let the Wii U do its things if you have automatic downloads activated. You should have the latest version of Pokkén Tournament the next time you launch the game;
- if not, you can launch Pokkén Tournament from the Home Menu of the Wii U (not the Quick Start Menu), in order to trigger the download manually.
To check that you have the latest version of the game, simply launch the game: you should see “Ver. 1.3” at the top left corner of the screen.

Pokémon x Phoenix Segaia Resort collaboration
Here’s a promo video for Collection & Mystery: Pokémon – Eevee to Fushigina Hon (Collection & Mystery: Pokémon – Eevee and the Mysterious Book), a special collaboration with the Phoenix Segaia Resort. It provides various activities for kids, centered around Pokémon and a “mysterious book” (a tablet).
Mewtwo and Mew distribution
Did you participate in any of the Play! Pokémon events (Regionals, Premier Challenges, Nationals, International Challenge Battle Competitions)? If yes, you should receive an email with a serial code for a Shiny Mewtwo in late July (the code will have to be used before August 21st). To receive it, you need to do two things before July 10th:
- opt in to the Play! Pokémon events before participating in one (if you haven’t already)
- have a valid email
Here’s details about the Mewtwo to be distributed:
- Level: 100
- Hidden Ability: Unnerve
- Hold item: Mewtwonite Y
- Moves: Psystrike, Psychic, Recover, Aura Sphere
Finally, a heads up for North American players: serial codes for Mew are being sent out via the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, and need to be used before August 31st. You cannot redeem it if you already received it previously.
