Pokémon live-action movie
A few months ago, we learned about a potential live-action movie for the Pokémon series, and yesterday, it was finally confirmed. Variety reports that Legendary finally won the rights to a Pokémon movie, and chose to make one based on Detective Pikachu (the adventure game released earlier this year in Japan).
No details are available at the moment, but according to Legendary (who is going to collaborate with The Pokémon Company for that movie), production will start next year. Universal Pictures will distribute the movie outside Japan, while Toho (who is already distributing the Pokémon animation movies) will be the distributor for Japan.
The whole deal was brokered by Don McGowan at The Pokémon Company International, with the counsel of Dan Black of Greenberg Traurig. On Legendary’s side, Marty Willhite, Daniel Feinberg, and Mike Ross took part in the negotiations.
Yesterday, a brand new update for Pokémon GO on iOS and Android went live. It brings the game to Ver. 1.0.3 (iOS) / Ver 0.29.3 (Android), but doesn’t add any features and doesn’t really fix anything. All it does is bring some minor text fixes and… that’s pretty much it.
Pokémon stickers on LINE
Today, some Pokémon Pixel Artwork and Sounds! stickers were released on LINE. There’s 24 stickers in total, and they are based on the classic Pokémon games. They cost:
- 100 coins
- 240 Yen
You can get them from the Sticker Shop on the More tab in the LINE app.
Also, the Pokémon Daisuki Club in Japan has launched a special game on the official website. It’s a quizz where players have to find a Pokémon based on its cry, with three difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard). You can click here for more details (in Japanese)!
