This week-end, leaks from CoroCoro magazine allowed us to discover Volcanion, the 721th Pokémon. Today, The Pokémon Company officially revealed this Pokémon, which will be distributed sometime next year (most likely at the same time as the latest movie, out on July 16th in Japan).

Volcanion is a bit special: it’s the very first Pokémon to be of both Water and Fire types. Apparently, it uses both to create steam within its body, and then expelling it (and shock waves) from the arms on its back. He’s said to be so powerful that just one of those shockwaves is enough to blow away an entire mountain, and literally change the shape of the land.

Here’s some details about it:

  • Category: Steam Pokémon
  • Type: Fire/Water
  • Ability: Water Absorb
  • Height: 5′ 07″ / 1,7 m
  • Weight: 429.9 lbs / 195,0 kg

Here’s a video introducing Volcanion, along with some screens:

The first trailer for the latest Pokémon movie will be revealed on Thursday, in the Oha-Suta show in Japan.
