Pokkén Tournament
Today, Bandai-Namco sent a press release to announce that total shipments for Pokkén Tournament on Wii U had topped 1 million units. Unfortunately, the publisher doesn’t provide a regional breakdown of shipments. Last known data for Pokkén Tournament from Famitsu is 148 168 units, so we can assume at least 800 000 units were shipped in Europe and North America.

Pokémon event at GameStop
This week-end, the Pokémon World Championships takes place in San Francisco. Live in the United States, but can’t head there yourself? No problem: you can stop by select GameStop stores to compete against other Pokémon fans in Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire.
This Pokémon event takes places on Saturday, from 12:00PM to 3PM (local time). The first 50 fans at each event will receive a set of Pokémon Sun and Moon art cards (while supplies last).

Battle Competition
Today, registrations for the latest Battle Competition went live: the Unova Classic. Here’s the rules:
- Battles: Triple Battle
- Pokémon allowed: Pokémon in the National Pokédex from 001-649
- Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect.
- Banned items: Mega Stones
- Registration: from August 18th to August 28th
- Battles: from August 26th through August 28th
- Prize: special Darmanitan (Level 35, based on N’s Darmanitan), with the Zen Mode ability, and the following moves: Thrash, Belly Drum, Flare Blitz, and Hammer Arm.
Pokémon distribution
Quick heads up for players who participated in one of the Play! Pokémon events this year: the serial code for Shiny Mewtwo expires on Sunday, so make sure to use yours as soon as possible if you haven’t already!
