Pokémon news (April 22) – Pokémon Center: new store to open in Tokyo

Today, The Pokémon Company announced that another Pokémon Center store would open in July in Japan. It will be located at the Tokyo Skytree Town in Japan, and will be the 11th Pokémon Center to open in Japan. The mascot of that store is Pikachu and Rayquaza.

Pokémon distribution

A quick reminder for players in North America and Europe: the Jirachi distribution for Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, via Nintendo Network, will end on Sunday (April 24th). Get yours before it’s over!

Battle competition

Yesterday, registration for the latest battle competiton, Flash Clash, started. Here’s a reminder of the rules:

  • Battles: Single Battle;
  • Pokémon restrictions: all allowed except Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, and Hoopa;
  • Items prohibited: Mega Stone, Focus Sash;
  • Special rules: matches only last 5 minutes, and you only have 10 seconds to pick a move. You can only use 1 Pokémon in each battle;
  • Registration: April 21st to April 28th;
  • Battles: April 29th to May 1st;
  • Reward: 2000 PokéMiles for participating.
