Overcooked 2 announced for the Nintendo Switch, out in August

Overcooked is a popular co-op cooking action game that was released on Nintendo Switch last year. Since the console itself is perfect for co-op play, it’s no wonder the game has been pretty popular on it. That’s especially true in Japan, where the game hasn’t really left the weekly Top 20 on the Nintendo eShop since launch. And soon, Nintendo Switch players will be able to bring their cooking skills to the next level with Overcooked 2!

This “sequel” will be released on August 7th worldwide. Unlike the original, that was released at retail after the Nintendo eShop release, Overcooked 2 will be available in physical format on the same day as the digital version.

Here’s the debut trailer for the game:

And here’s the official description, alongside some screenshots:

Overcooked 2 is serving up more chefs, more kitchens, more recipes, more co-op madness and even more Kevin with the second helping of concentrated co-op chaos! Buddy up or go it alone as you cook up a storm, chopping, steaming and frying your way through dynamic and outright crazy levels. Now with online multiplayer for up to four chefs, there is no such thing as too many cooks and the steaks have never been higher as you prepare to save the Onion Kingdom… Again.

  • Online Multiplayer
  • New themes, chefs, recipes & kitchens
  • Chaotic couch co-op (for up to four players)
  • Versus mode
  • Arcade mode
