Nintendo Switch: Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s / Harvest Moon: Friend of Mineral Town

This week, two new games have been announced for the Nintendo Switch in Japan: Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s and Harvest Moon: Friend of Mineral Town (a remake of the GameBoy Advance Classic)!

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s

As part of the celebrations of the 10th Anniversary of the SEGA feat. Hatsune Mike Project, SEGA have announced that a brand new game, called Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s will be released in early 2019 in Japan. It’s being developed by AM2. The “39’s” in the title is actually pretty clever: 39’s is read “Mix” (3 = Mi, 9 = Ku + ‘s = Su), and it’s a pun on both the way 39’s is read, but also Hatsune Miku’s name itself.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s will feature no less than 101 songs from the series, including 10 new songs. Among the new tracks, we have Alien Alien (by Nayutan Seijin) and 39 Music! (by MikitoP). Also, the character models have been modified, and made to look more ‘anime-like’ than in previous games. The game will also feature no less than 300 modules (costumes for Hatsune Miku and the other singers).

Here’s the debut trailer for the Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39’s:

Also, the game will be featured in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, this week. Here’s some preview pictures:

The latest issue of Famitsu magazine comes out on Thursday in Japan (effectively Wednesday morning/afternoon in North America and Europe respectively).

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town

Shortly after the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, in January, it was announced that an unnamed Story of Seasons game (ex-Harvest Moon series) will be released on Nintendo Switch. Most fans believed that Doraemon Story of Seasons was that game, but it’s not the case. Marvelous later clarified that a different game was in the works, and today, it was finally revealed. Introducing Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, a remake of the GameBoy Advance classic!

This remake will combine both Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (the “female” version of the game), and it will be released on October 17th in Japan.

Right now, the remake is only announced for Japan, but it’s highly unlikely it will stay there. However, the European and North American releases are going to be interesting, because Natsume does own the Harvest Moon trademark, and so Marvelous will not be able to use it. It’s possible the game will get a brand new subtitle.

Here’s the preview pictures from Famitsu magazine, which will share the first details about the game in its latest issue:
