Nintendo: list of million-sellers for Fiscal Year 2015-16, best-sellers

Along with its financial results for the nine months period ended December 31st 2015, Nintendo also revealed its list of million-sellers for the current fiscal year. This allows us to see which games were the most popular, but also get actual sales data for those very games. And so far, there’s 9 million-sellers on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Splatoon 1The most impressive result comes from Splatoon, which has sold over 4 million units world (including over 1 million in Japan alone). Super Mario Maker also did pretty well, just like Mario Kart 8. The latest entry in the Mario Kart is now own by over 1/2 of all Wii U owners (the Wii U has sold over 12 million, and Mario Kart 8 is already at over 7.2 millions).

Nintendo 3DS

  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer – 2.93 million units worldwide (1.45 million units in Japan, 1.48 million units in Europe/North America)
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire – 1.52 million units worldwide (180 000 units in Japan, 1.34 million units in Europe/North America) / 11.46 million units since launch
  • Mario Kart 7 – 1.33 million units (160 000 units in Japan, 1.17 million units in Europe/North America) / 13.03 million units since launch
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS – 1.16 million units (150 000 units in Japan, 1.01 million units in Europe/North America) / 7.92 million units since launch
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes – 1.08 million units (190 000 units in Japan, 900 000 units in Europe/North America)

Wii U

  • Splatoon – 4.06 million units (1.37 million units in Japan, 2.7 million units in Europe/North America)
  • Super Mario Maker – 3.34 million units (880 000 units in Japan, 2.46 million in Europe/North America)
  • Mario Kart 8 – 2.13 million units (210 000 units in Japan, 1.91 million in Europe/North America) / 7.24 million units since launch
  • Yoshi’s Woolly World – 1.31 million units (130 000 units in Japan, 1.19 million units in Europe/North America)

  • New Super Luigi U: 2.42 million units
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD: 1.69 million units
  • Mario Party 10: 1.65 million units

Nintendo 3DS

  • Pokémon X and Y: 14.46 million units
  • Mario Kart 7: 13.03 million units
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire: 11.46 million units
  • Super Mario 3D Land: 10.63 million units
  • New Super Mario Bros. 2: 10.04 million units
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf: 9.86 million units
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS: 7.92 million units
  • Tomodachi Life: 4.89 million units
