Nintendo eShop: New Year sale announced for Japan (January 1 – 10)

Unlike the rest of the world, New Year is a great period for video games sales in Japan. This is due to several reasons, though the main two are:

• kids receiving Otodoshidama (New Year money), and many chose to spend it on video games and consoles;
• a series of public holidays (including school holidays).

Therefore, New Year sales are quite common in Japan… even more common than Christmas sales, actually. And of course, Nintendo is hosting a special New Year sale on the Nintendo eShop, just like the company did last year (and the previous years).
