Nintendo 3DS: new Firmware update available (Ver. 11.1.0-34)

More than four months ago, Nintendo released a new Firmware update for the Nintendo 3DS (the first one since March). Despite the version number going from Ver. 10 to Ver. 11, there was no new features waiting for users once the update was downloaded and installed. All it did was make the system more stable (translation: various exploits were fixed), and that’s pretty much it.

As months have gone by, and new Firmware updates without any new features have been released, it’s become clear than Nintendo’s Firmware teams are now fully focusing their efforts on the NX platform. And today’s update, the first one in several months, is most definitely not going to contradict that… Indeed, it doesn’t add any new features, and only brings the usual “system stability” adjustments.

Here’s the official changelog for the update:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

To download this new Firmware (ver. 11.1.0-34) for the Nintendo 3DS, it’s pretty simple. All you have to do is go to System Settings > Other Settings > 5 > System update, while being connected to the internet. The download should take a couple of seconds.
