Monster Strike: more details and screenshots/artworks

Monster Strike 3DSToday, mixi shared some more details and screenshots for Monster Strike on Nintendo 3DS, which comes out in less than two months in Japan. We get to see some artworks for several Nintendo 3DS exclusive monsters, but also some which are from the mobile version of the game. During battled, you will get to see a special animation whenever you use the Strike Shot (there’s one for each monster).

Talking of battles, they take place on the top screen, with the bottom screen used to pull and launch monsters (just like in the mobile version). Alternatively, you can use the circle pad to do just that.

Next, we have the “Gacha” (or Capsule Machine): it’s one of the ways to get monsters in the game. But unlike the mobile version, there’s no microtransactions in Monster Strike on Nintendo 3DS, so you use medals instead. There’s 4 kinds of medals:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Rainbow

The more “precious” the medal, the rarer the monsters you can get, with the Rainbow medals offering the rarest monsters (every players pre-ordering/pre-purchasing the game will get some of those).

By progressing through the story, you will encounter some powerful enemies/bosses: you will need strong monsters to defeat them. Besides the Gacha, one way to get monsters is by completing special quests at the Coliseum. You can also get items to strengthen your monsters that way.

Finally, here’s the latest batch of screenshots/artworks for the game:

Monster Strike (3DS) comes out on December 17th in Japan.
