At E3 2021, Nintendo announced Metroid Dread: the first brand new “2D” Metroid in 19 years and the long awaited 5th entry in the original series (Metroid Prime is part of its own, separate series).
Following that announcement, Nintendo launched the Metroid Dread Report, a series of “reports” about the game sharing some additional details and pictures (including behind-the-scene glimpses from the development team). On this page, you will find the list of all the reports currently available, along with some extras (such as footage).
Metroid Dread Report Vol. 10 (October 7th)
The latest and final report features a message from the developers to players about to embark on their journey across Planet ZDR. It offers some details about game design, programming, sound design, visuals, and more. Click here to check it out!

Metroid Dread Report Vol. 3: Seven points that define the 2D saga (July 15th)
The third report is about 7 keywords: Samus Aran, Metroid (the creatures), the 35th Anniversary of the series, a vast world to explore, power-ups, the Chozo, and the X Parasite. All those are elements that have defined the 2D Metroid series over the year. Click here to check it out in English!
Metroid Dread Report Vol. 2: Researching the E.M.M.I. (June 30th)
The second report takes a closer look at the dreadful E.M.M.I. (which stands for Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier), and how they change up the gameplay of the Metroid series. The report is now available in English (click here to check it out), and it does feature some brand new gameplay footage.
