Metallic Child – Ver. 1.3.0.10 (Advanced Update)

Addition of Content
  • Added the “Advanced” combat setting.
  • Added the Bottomless Labs to Terminal Creed.
  • Added five new Customs.
  • Added four new weapons.
  • Added the six winning pieces of the fan-art contest.
Balance Adjustments
  • Reduced the number of levels of Terminal Karma from four to three.
  • Changed the Keepers of each level in Terminal Karma to those of the other stages.
  • Banned MC skills from use in the Virtual Missions.

This update brings the following:

  • adds Advanced Style: a skill-oriented battle mode for those who have cleared the game!
    • The Advanced combat setting will be available after clearing the main story. In the Basic setting, new enemies only arrive after all the current ones have been defeated. In the Advanced setting, reinforcements will arrive while there are enemies still left, leaving no time for players to catch their breath during battle. In return, skill attacks will increase in effectiveness.
  • adds new Weapons
  • adds new Customs
    • When all stages are cleared in the Advanced setting, the Custom, OVERTURN, will become available. With OVERTURN equipped, the exclusive weapon, Gatling Fists, will be equipped at the start of the stage. When players obtain 2000 points or more in the Bottomless Labs, the Custom, SMASHING THE BATTLE, will become available. With SMASHING THE BATTLE equipped, an <Emergency Repair Chip> will be in possession at the start of the stage, allowing players to be revived just once.
  • adds The Bottomless Labs: an unlimited battle mode
    • There was more to Terminal Creed to discover. In the Bottomless Labs, players will battle against an endless onrush of enemies to gain points until Rona becomes immobilized.
  • adds new Combat Settings

  • Added the Christmas Custom gears “Stellar Pixie” and “Snow Pixie.”
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue in which the camera angle would not return to normal after a Take-down.
  • Fixed an issue in which Rona can run out of the battlefield at the start of battle.
  • Fixed an issue in which Rona could get immobilized at the same time as defeating a boss.
  • Fixed an issue in which Chain-skills would be unleashed multiple times at once.
  • Fixed an issue in which Shutty would malfunction when unleashing ranged attacks.
  • Fixed an issue in which, when the MC skill “Ice Time” is unleashed while an enemy is evading, that enemy would freeze out of bounds.
  • Fixed an issue in which Core energy would not be lost when receiving damage while the bugged Core “Leaky Core” is installed.
Balance Adjustments
  • Altered settings so that Core Chargers would appear randomly in the battlefield.
  • Lowered the probability of Core Chargers dropping when viral Cores are installed.
  • Lowered the HP of Keepers in Terminal Karma.
  • Lowered the HP of high-hazard level robots.
  • Altered settings so that enemies are not knocked back when hit by Rona with the Super-core “Dash” installed.
  • Lowered the attack power of the weapon “Four Tigers.”

  • Adjusted processing load on the Switch™ platform.

  • Added a Custom gear that pixelates Rona in the same way as the bugged Core “Disfigurement.”
  • Added the Halloween Custom gear “Pompous Witch.”
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue in which the camera angle would not return to normal after a Take-down.
  • Fixed an issue in which, in the System Upgrader, the feature MC Skill Optimization was not being applied properly.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Core Charger could not be operated properly.
  • Fixed an issue in which, when the MC skill Chill Time gets unleashed, enemies would begin to move abnormally.
  • Fixed an issue in which NPCs would continue to appear after it has become impossible to clear that quest.
  • Fixed an issue in which a shield would not be generated when Controd’s gear is equipped.
  • Fixed an issue in which HP cans could not be obtained.
  • Fixed an issue in which the spam on the security camera caused by the bugged Core “Spam” would not appear properly.
  • Fixed an issue in which, in the Controd stage, the number of combos was being displayed for the stage results, when combos do not apply to the Controd stage.
  • Fixed an issue in which the transport vessel could be activated during the animation for boarding a Powerbot.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Super-core installation screen would not close after installing a Super-core.
Balance Adjustments
  • Increased the rate of occurrence of NPC quests.
  • Altered settings so that the location of falling traps will constantly be displayed for Level 2 onward in the Lighton stage.
  • Altered settings so that Controd’s gear generates two shields instead of one when equipped.
  • Altered settings so that the recovery tool can be used from the start of the game.
  • Adjusted the overall balancing of Super-cores.
  • Adjusted the judgement standards for the Clear Rank of Terminal Creed.
  • Adjusted the overall balancing of the last floor of each stage.
Other
  • Added sound effects for when weapon exchange and the use of MC skills become possible.
  • Adjusted processing load on the Switch™ platform.

  • An issue in which items can drop outside of the battlefield

  • An issue in which Rona becomes uncontrollable after unboarding a Powerbot (workaround: Refrain from changing weapons while boarding a Powerbot.)
  • An issue in which the frame rate drops during the boss battle
  • Update also provides a lot of play improvements and bug fixes.

How to download updates for Metallic Child for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Metallic Child, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
