Media Create: some comments about Week 13 in Japan

Week 13 was quite busy in Japan, with lots of brand new games coming out at the same time. In fact, the Top 13 spots of Media Create’s software Top 20 are new titles that launched that week. Therefore, it’s not really surprising that sales increased dramatically: they were 169.97% of last week, with over 1 285 000 units sold.

For Media Create, there’s two reasons for that increase: the high number of new titles coming out, but also the start of the Spring vacations. Sales of brand new games more than doubled compared to the previous week: they went from over 411 000 units to over 894 000 units. As for weekly total software sales, they reached 1 285 000 units: it’s the first time this year that they reached 1 million!
