Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics coming out on April 8th in Europe

Mario Sonic OlympicsMario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics is the latest entry in the Mario & Sonic series, and coincides with the Rio 2016 Olympics (taking place this Summer). Even though both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions were announced at the same time, the handheld version will be the first to come out.

In Japan, the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics will be released next week, on February 18th. In North America, the game will come out basically one month later, on March 18th. Europe was the only region without a proper date, but Nintendo fixed that earlier today: it will be April 8th (three weeks after North America)!

Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t provide any additional screenshots and/or video for the game along with this announcement. Our Release Planning page was updated with this new date.
