Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle to add Donkey Kong as a playable character with the upcoming DLC

Following the reveal and then release of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, many fans wondered where on earth could Donkey Kong be. He certainly seemed like a perfect fit for the game, and yet, he’s nowhere to be seen… for now at least. Because we finally know where he’s been: in the new world to be added as part as the second DLC Pack for the game!

That’s right, the second DLC Pack adds Donkey Kong as a playable character, and he’s not coming empty-handed. No, he’s not bringing his whole collection of bananas with him (ok, maybe he did bring it…), but he will also come with a brand new world to explore, and an exclusive new storyline.

If you already own the Season Pass or the Gold Edition of the game (only available on the Nintendo eShop), then you’ve got nothing to do: you will get Donkey Kong and the rest of the second DLC Pack automatically. If you prefer, you will also be able to purchase it separately when it launches, sometime this Spring.

That’s right: the second DLC Pack is now releasing in Spring, isntead of January as announced initially. We don’t quite know the reasons behind this delay, but it’s definitely possible Ubisoft decided to give the developers some extra time to develop the DLC Pack given how successful the game was.

Here’s one lone artwork and a trailer:

The second DLC Pack for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be released this Spring in Europe and North America. Nothing has been announced for Japan yet, though we already know the DLC will also be released in that region. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
