Lost Reavers now available in Japan, filesize, trailer and screens

Lost ReaversAfter an open beta, back in September, Lost Reavers is finally available for download on the Nintendo eShop of the Wii U, in Japan. It was stealth-released earlier today, without any prior announcement. To download it, you will need at least 1056MB of free space on your Wii U or external HDD. If you have a Nintendo Account and automatic downloads activated on your Wii U, you can download the game automatically by visiting this page!

The page also reveals that the Wii U GamePad is the only controller compatible with Lost Reavers, so bad news for you if you were hoping to play it with the Wii U Pro Controller. As for online features, we have:

  • online play (co-op)
  • online leaderboards
  • microtransactions (via the Nintendo eShop)

To celebrate, Bandai-Namco is hosting a Start Dash Campaign event, which lasts until December 16th (when the servers will go down for maintenance). During that time, you will get x1.5 XP on all missions!

Here’s the launch trailer for Lost Reavers:

The trailer showcases the main elements of the game, and starts by introducing the 4 playable characters. Here’s some details about them:

  • Sayuri: a balanced character, recommended for beginners. She can use her katana for close combat, but she can also rely on her pistols in order to put some distance between herself and the enemies.
  • Dwayne: a character focused on raw power. He can use an assault rifle to attack enemies (by pressing R, you can aim more precisely), and his rocket launcher is perfect to take out entire groups of enemies at once… just make sure your teammates are not caught in the blast!
  • Victoria: a character focused on the amount of damage per shot, rather than the amount of shots fired. Using her guns, she can spread death around her with deadly precision, but you need to pay attention to reloading times. This is a great character for players who want to play a role within their team.
  • Shadow Stalker: he can use both a sword and a shotgun at the same time, making him deadly at short range. With a special combo, he can even attack while reloading his shotgun. However, there’s a catch: he’s a rather tricky character to control, so he may not be recommended for beginners.

The goal of the game is to find treasure, and then bring it back to the entrance. Obviously, there’s plenty of monsters along the way, including some rather menacing bosses (that you may not encounter all the time). The trailer does show briefly the skill tree, which allows you to customise your character.

Finally, here’s some screenshots for the game:

Lost Reavers (Wii U eShop) should come out next year in Europe and North America.
