LEGO City Undercover: launch trailer, Switch version still suffers from long loading times

Today is April 4th, which means that the Nintendo Switch version of LEGO City Undercover is now available in North America. If you live in Europe, you will have to wait until Friday to get the game (unless you head over to the North American Nintendo eShop and download it from there), though French players will be able to get it from tomorrow (April 5th).

To celebrate, Warner Bros. uploaded the usual launch trailer, that you can check out just below!

Unfortunately, here’s some pretty bad news for players who were expecting short loading times, the Nintendo Switch version of the game still suffers from unusually long loading times. As you can see on the comparison video below, provided by Nintendo World Report, while there are some noticeable improvements (especially when heading to LEGO City), the loading times are still abnormally long.

Here’s the comparison video (Nintendo Switch / Wii U):

It’s certainly disappointing to see the developers didn’t take the time to optimise the engine, in order to shorten the loading times. While not a deal breaker, this is still bad news for players who were looking forward to less waiting in LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch.
