The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Even more details about the Champions amiibo features

Back in September, during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo shared some details about the in-game features of the Champions amiibo, for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Here’s what we wrote about it:

Naturally, like the other Zelda amiibo, they will allow you to get some extra food, materials, and weapons when tapped, but there’s more. Each amiibo will unlock a special piece of headgear, based on the four Divine Beasts (and more precisely the one each Champion is tied to). As for what those do in-game… we don’t really know!

Today, Nintendo finally revealed what those pieces of headgear do. When you have any of the Divine Helms equipped alongside the Ancient Cuirass and Ancient Greaves, this triggers the Ancient Proficiency set bonus (all armour items need to be Level 2 or higher). This bonus increases the attack power of Ancient or Guardian series weapons.

Also, all helms increase guard from ancient energy attacks, and allow you to see enemies’ HP, just like the Champion’s Tunic. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the defense level and required materials for level-up are the same as those of the Ancient Helm.

But wait, there’s more! All 4 helms also have specific effects:

  • Vah Rudania Divine Helm: Flame Guard (Lv1)
  • Vah Ruta Divine Helm: Swim Speed Up (Lv1)
  • Vah Naboris Divine Helm: Electricity Resistance (Lv1)
  • Vah Medoh Divine Helm: Cold Resistance (Lv1)

The Champions amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild come out on November 10th, worldwide.
