Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk headed to the Nintendo Switch this Fall

At their annual press event, yesterday, NIS America announced that Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk (a Dungeon RPG released last year in Japan) was headed to the Nintendo Switch later this year. In Europe and North America, it will be this Fall, while Japan only gets a vague “2018” release window. It will be playable in English or French, with either Japanese or English voices.

In this game, you get to become the Tractatus de Monstrum (a living book), and command a brigade of puppet soldiers, so as to navigate the twisting passageways of the labyrinth of Refrain.

But before you do so, it’s pretty important to prepare yourself for the journey ahead. You can create new puppet soldiers, assign them different squads and formations, synthesize better equipment, take requests from townsfolk, and get assistance from Dronya via Witch Petitions.

Once inside the labyrinth, it’s up to you to search every nook and cranny. There’s barricades to jump over, puzzles to solve, and even walls to smash your way through. The deeper you delve into the labyrinth, the more likely you are to find treasure and rare artifacts. But be careful: the more of them you obtain, the more vicious the labyrinth becomes! It would be a shame if you were to die on the way back…

In battle, you can give orders to your puppet brigade, but also change their formation, use special skills, and even launch an allout attack. You really should not cut corners when it comes to preparation and strategy, because battles are quite challenging!

• Build an Undefeatable Army – Create your very own puppet soldiers, grant them a variety of different roles, and assign them to specialized squads to make your own unique brigade!
