Japan: pictures of the Super Mario Cafés (Tower Record Cafés)

This year is the 30th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series, and to celebrate, Nintendo has various events and releases in store. One of them is rather surprising: three Super Mario Cafés, in collaboration with Toward Record Cafés in Tokyo (game-themed cafés are pretty common, but they’re less common for Nintendo).

The best part? All three cafés have their own “spin” on the Mario theme. For example, the one in Shibuya has a huge 8-bit Mario and some pipes at the front. On the other hand, the one in Omotesando has various plushies of Mario characters everywhere.

At those Super Mario Cafés, you can order some special Super Mario-themed food, which is basically standard café food but with a Mario twist: latte art, 8-bit wafer, etc. What’s more, they each have their own menu, with their own dishes. If you’re in the Tokyo area, make sure you don’t wait too long before checking them out: the special cafés will only remain open until early July.
