Fire Emblem Heroes: Nintendo to start banning cheaters

A few weeks ago, Nintendo sent a notification to Fire Emblem Heroes players, in order to warn them about “improper use” of the app (aka: cheating). Players caught not respecting the Terms of Use have already seen their access to some of the features limited (you can see if you’ve been impacted by such a ban via the Notifications, and more precisely the Personal tab). But it looks like Nintendo is ready to go one step further.

In a notification sent yesterday, players are notified that those who are caught cheating may also be banned from the app entirely. It’s not just a few features: they will no longer be able to access the app, period (most likely with an error message displayed at the title screen).

Players banned will no longer be able to use their save data, and will therefore have to start from scratch if they want to play again. It’s safe to assume that deleting, and then restoring the save data via a Nintendo Account will not do anything (it will only restore the banned saved data), and that you will have to delete all data from the account in order to be able to play again.

The wording in the notification implies that the ban is permanent, unlike those mentioned in the previous notification. It’s not clear if that permanent ban is triggered after several temporary bans, or only with a major infraction.
