Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – All the latest details, pictures, and videos (Archives 2)

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is the latest entry in the Fire Emblem series (the first one on Nintendo Switch 2!), and it comes out on September 17th worldwide.

In this post, you will find all the latest details, pictures, videos, and more for the game shared between July 13th and July 31st. For the most recent updates, make sure to check out this post instead:

July 31st

Olympia (voiced by Yuiko Tatsumi in Japanese) is a devout priestess who serves at the Temple of Kalla in Upper Dagsion. She has such a gift for singing and the arts that she has been named the “Rose of Caels” (official English name TBA). She appears to have some history with Leda, and considers her a bitter rival.

Likes: practicing singing and dancing, being the center of attention.

The video below shows a scene taking place in the Temple of Kalla, where Olympia works. As you can see, she is quite the lively young woman!

In battle, Olympia is a master of white magic. Whenever she uses magic to attack, her Skill “Competitive Spirit” (official English name TBA) activates, and increases her chances of landing a critical hit (which deals triple damage).

July 30th

Mu (voiced by Akane Yamaguchi in Japanese) is a young girl who retains some of her child-like innocence. She ran away from home in order to search for her mother, who has gone missing. While searching for her, Mu encounters Leda, herself on a journey for revenge. In order to protect herself from various dangers, Mu always dresses and speaks like a boy.

Likes: her father, her mother, sweets.

The video below shows a conversation between Mu and Peter (who is roughly the same age as her). Just as Muu starts worrying her disguise is going to be exposed, a slightly clueless Peter appears…

In battle, Mu deals lots of damage in close combat using her gauntlets. As a novice warrior, she may lack experience, but the combat instincts she inherited from her mother almost seem to bloom as she hones her skills.

July 28th

Lilian (voiced by Shuka Saitou in Japanese) is a young archer from Saramis. To her, money is more important than anything else, which is why she’s known for acting and speaking disrespectfully to her Queen, Theodora. That being said, her skills with the bow are without peer. Her personal history is somewhat complicated: her family is of noble lineage, but her father lost his status following civil unrest.

Likes: gold coins, jewels, older men.

The video below shows a scene where Lilian approaches Theodora in order to discuss “certain matters.” On one side, you have Lilian, who is not intimidated even by the Queen herself. On the other side, you have Theodora, who will listen even to the words of a lowly soldier. Seeing that the two of them don’t judge people by their titles, Theodora and Lilian might be more alike than one would think at first glance.

In battle, Lilian specialises in one-sided attacks with her long-range bow. If her target is unable to counterattack because she is too far away, her personal Skill “Safety First” (official English name TBA) activates, and increases her Hit rate.

July 27th

Lysander (voiced by Junichi Yanagita in Japanese) is a brilliant knight from Saramis. He comes from a distinguished family: his uncle is currently serving as Chancellor, and his father is a warrior of great renown, worthy of history books. A deeply loyal and highly capable knight, Lysander is anxious to achieve success on his own merits, without relying on his lineage, which sometimes causes him to act rashly.

Likes: skygazing.

The video below shows a scene where Theodora and the others are seen preparing the Heroic Games. Lysander, a serious person who places a lot of importance on etiquette, seems rather concerned by the attitude of one Lilian, who was also selected as a participant…

As a cavalry unit, Lysander boasts great mobility, which means he excels at taking the initiative in battle. Defeating enemies triggers his “Accelerate” Skill (official English name TBA), which boosts his Speed stat steadily.

July 24th

Mikaela (voiced by Hiromi Hirata in Japanese) is a former mercenary who travelled to Dagsion in order to earn money to pay for the education of her only daughter. During her career, she was such a formidable fighter that people started calling her “Ironblooded Mikaela”. Her reputation was such that even Buccar, the Demon Bear of Baphos, eventually heard of her.

Likes: taking care of others, brewing delicious “tef”.

The video below shows a scene where Mikaela is seen joining Dietrich’s group. Even though it’s only by mere happenstance that those four teamed up, their teamwork does appear remarkably solid.

In battle, Mikaela excels in close combat. When she’s standing next to an enemy, her Combat Skill “Veteran Warrior” (official English name TBA) activates and increases the accuracy of her attacks.

July 23rd

Ultand (voiced by Konomi Inagaki in Japanese) is a young priest serving at the Temple of Aurora in Upper Dagsion. Known for her kind and caring nature, she looks after Cai as he takes part in the Heroic Games alongside his childhood friends as if he were her own little brother, and helps him whenever she can.

Likes: taking care of others, family, all kinds of housework, romance stories.

The video below shows a conversation between Ultand and Cai and his friends, as the young man volunteers to participate in the Heroic Games. Since people from all over the continent are gathering for this event, Ultand (who works at the Temple of Aurora) is also asked to serve as a receptionist.

In battle, Ultand is a versatile unit that can both heal allies and engage enemies. As her skills improve, she will learn Divine magic that’s particularly effective against enemies: Underworld Blessing (official English name TBA).

July 22nd

Just like in other Fire Emblem games, the range of your attacks varies depending on the weapon you’re using:

  • Swords, Spears, Axes, Gauntlets: 1 square in any direction (vertically or horizontally, but not diagonally)
  • Bows: 2 squares vertically or horizontally, and 1 square diagonally

Do note that those are the standard attack ranges, as some skills, buffs, etc. may allow you to attack enemies further away.

In contrast, most magic spells have a range of 1 or 2 squares (in any direction), and are known for their ability to hit over a wide area (pretty handy when you want to take out multiple enemies at once).

If you attack an enemy while you’re in range of their attacks, they will launch a counterattack. A good strategy consists in attacking enemies with a range of 1 square from afar (using bows for example), and enemies with a range of 2 squares using melee weapons. Do so, and you should be able to avoid counterattacks.

As for enemies with a range of 1 and 2 squares, you can either defeat them before they get a chance to counterattack, or you can attack them with a unit boasting strong defense or evasion.

In order to avoid nasty surprises, make sure to keep an eye on the Battle Forecast screen that shows up just before you launch an attack. You can see at a glance if the enemy will launch a counterattack or not (and if yes, how much damage they will deal).

July 21st

Sirocco (voiced by Katsuyuki Miura in Japanese) is a mysterious bard who appears before Leda as she continues her quest for revenge. He calls himself the “Capricious Wind” (official English name TBA). Despite his womanizing tendencies, that compel him to flirt with every beautiful woman he comes across, he also possesses keen insight and high intellect.

Likes: Goddess Kalla, all women, composing poetry.

The video below shows a scene in a lively tavern, brought to life by the Goddess of Fortune. Naturally, the infamous Capricious Wind simply couldn’t ignore Leda’s beauty…

In battle, Sirocco can skillfully switch between swords and magic to throw enemies off-balance.

July 17th

Tobias (official English name TBA) (voiced by Kentarou Tone in Japanese) is a formidable general from the Kingdom of Saramis, known for his strength and defensive skills. He calls Queen Theodora “Miss”. Just like Bonaventure, he has served the kingdom since the reign of the previous king, and he has many military achievements, earned on the battlefield, under his belt. Using his head isn’t exactly his forte, and he has a hard time remembering names.

Likes: booze, combat, singing, socializing.

The video below shows a conversation between Tobias and Lysander (official English name TBA), a young soldier from Salamis. What could this earnest young man be thinking about the carefree behaviour of his senior…?

In battle, Tobias makes uses of his well-honed strength and impenetrable defense to take enemies head-on and crush them.

July 15th

Esmeralda (voiced by Hana Hishikawa in Japanese) is the daughter of a fisherman living in a fishing village off the Dagdan coast. She is one wild spirited woman, and despite her petite figure, she posses superhuman strength. Dietrich rescued her just as she was about to be sacrificed to a sea beast, and since then, the two of them have been travelling together.

Likes: handsome men, harpooning, fishing gear maintenance.

The video below shows a scene taking place at Fina’s Fishing Village (official English name TBA), where Esmeralda lives. Even though they have just met, it seems that Dietrich and her do have something in common…

In battle, Esmeralda wields a weapon that once belonged to her late father, Shinza (English name TBA): a harpoon (technically, a spear) that she uses to crush enemies. Thanks to her remarkable strength, she can wield even the heaviest of weapons with relative ease!

July 13th

Peter (voiced by Kazutomi Yamamoto in Japanese) is a 15-year old boy who grew up alongside Cai, and the two of them are like brothers. He has such exceptionally sharp eyesight, he can observe the stars even in broad daylight. Thanks to those eyes of his, he makes for an outstanding archer, but his gentle and timid nature prevents him from fully reaching his true potential.

Likes: his mother’s home-made cooking, Ginji berries, cloud gazing.

The video below shows a conversation between Peter and Tialla, who are also childhood friends. While Peter is gentle and reserved, Tialla is the complete opposite: serious and passionate. They may be close friends, but their personalities could not be any more different!

In battle, Peter uses his signature bow to snipe enemies from afar. And by using his Combat Art, Precision Shot (official English name TBA), he can hit enemies from even further away!
