Fire Emblem Engage – Emblem Introduction: Leif (Emblem of Genealogy)

Fire Emblem Engage features various characters from past Fire Emblem games, who are called Emblems. They appear in the form of Emblem Rings that units can equip in order to get a stats boost, but also gain access to special skills and abilities. And in this post, we’re going to take a look at Leif, who is known as the Emblem of Genealogy!

Here’s a video showcasing this Emblem in action:

The video above also shows part of a scene where Leif is seen talking to Clanne. The young man looks quite intimidated by Leif, who is considered a wise ruler.

Leif (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura in Japanese) is a brave prince who carries the blood of two holy warriors.

As an Emblem, Leif is a versatile fighter who can handle pretty much any weapon type. He’s a well-rounded warrior who can attack anywhere without having to worry about pesky things like weapon or fighting style affinity.

His weapon, skills, and abilities are as follows:

  • Sync Skill: Vital Point Shift*. Reduces damage taken from enemies when weapon affinity is favourable;
  • Engage Weapon: Killer Axe*. A powerful axe with increased crit rate.
  • Engage Skill: Adaptability*. Automatically switches to a weapon that gives you the advantage over the enemy’s when under attack. For example, switches to a spear against a sword user, or a sword against an axe user. Also, Unit will always be able to counter regardless of range.
  • Engage Attack: Tetratrick*. Allows the Unit to unleash a flurry of attacks using swords, spears, axes, and bows, which has a high Break rate. Units with the “Qigong” Fighting Style are guaranteed to deal the Break status regardless of the enemy’s weapon type.

* official English name TBC!

Fire Emblem Engage (Switch) comes out on January 20th worldwide.
