  • Release date: March 21st 2024 (North America, Europe) / March 22nd 2024 (Japan)
  • Patch notes:
NEW FEATURE: STUFF ON STUFF
  • A new feature has been added to the game that allows players to, well, put Stuff on other Stuff – time to clutter up your homes!
    • Specifically, you can now place any inventory item (i.e. things you can sell at the market, not other decor) on the following constructible decor:
    • Barrel, Carved Large Table, Crate, Desk, Display Stand, Fae Cart, Fae Table, Fae Wood Container, Floor Pillow, Round Table, Sideboard, Small Bookshelf, Stack of Books, Stately Wooden Desk
  • In addition, 29 new small items found around our world have been turned into inventory items so they can be used with the Stuff on Stuff system (with no gameplay effects). These are all available to craft at the Decoration Table:
    • Baguette, Big Bowl, Candelabra, Candles, Charcuterie Board, Cheese Wheel, Decorative Rose, Empty Plate, Envelope, Exquisite Cake, Fresh Pie, Fruit Bowl, Glass Vase, Globe, Magnifying Glass, Mortar and Pestle, Open Book, Pan, Pasta Maker, Potion Bottle, Rounded Vase, Stew Pot, Tall Bottle, Tea Mug, Wash Bowl, Watering Can, Wine Glass, Wooden Stein, Wrapped Gift
NEW OPTION: LONGER DAYS
  • A new “Double-Day Length” option has been added to the Gameplay tab of the Settings screen, based on player feedback.
    • When active, the World Clock will move forward at half the normal speed, and a snail icon will appear in the clock section of the UI for reference.
    • In multiplayer, this option affects all players in a world, and is only controllable by the host.
NEW FREE COSMETICS
  • A number of new cosmetic items have been added to the game for all players.
  • A number of new customization options have also been added to the Character Creator, free and unlocked immediately for all players.
GAMEPLAY
  • Players can now have Job Quests from more than one NPC in progress at a time (still one per NPC).
  • Achievement Quests (the last in a NPC’s Job Quest line) now show in the Quest Log, and are pinnable, for convenience.
  • Cleo’s adventuring schedule has been adjusted so she spends less time inaccessible to players.
  • The previously-equipped tool will now be automatically re-equipped when entering and leaving water.
  • Fixed a bug where flowers would lose their color genes after being reclaimed and replanted.
  • Fixed a rare state reported by some players where their save would not load, with a “Failed to load into the game” error message. Please note that those affected should now be able to load in, but will be floating in an empty map until the end of the day, after which they should recover safely in the proper map.
  • Fixed an issue where opening full-screen interfaces via keyboard shortcuts would not pause the World Clock in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the Miasma, Freeze, and Heat visual effects still continuing to cover the screen when the World Clock is paused.
CHARACTERS & RELATIONSHIPS
  • A number of additions have been made to interacting with your spouse when married:
    • An amount of new post-marriage dialog has been added to romanceable NPCs, some with new conditions on them such as weather or time of day.
    • Emoting to your spouse will have them respond back to you.
    • When your spouse is at a part of their daily schedule when they are around the farm, sitting in the “cozy area” near your home will have them come and sit with you.
  • In addition, we addressed a number of cases where some unique dialog (for both romanceable and other NPCs) would not appear as intended in game:
    • Fixed a bug causing dialogue lines intended to appear when at a higher relationship level with an NPC from appearing.
    • Fixed a bug that was causing NPC dialogue intended for when they are engaged in specific activities (for example: catching critters, painting, or singing) to not appear.
    • Fixed an issue where NPC dialogue intended for rainy days were not active during thunderstorms.
  • Fixed a case where players could get stuck unable to progress relationships, and unable to propose, after the last date in a chain. Players in this state should be automatically recovered.
  • Fixed a case where completing a relationship quest when it is available at the same time as a date could block further relationship progress. Players in this state should be automatically recovered.
  • Fixed an issue where “romance increase” icons could continue to appear, and gifts continue to be given, to NPCs that you were already at the “Getting Serious” stage with.
  • Fixed a case where players would incorrectly receive the “married” letter early if saving and loading while the Wedding Planning quest is in progress.
  • Fixed a case where players could quickly select to go on a date with two NPCs when close together, resulting in a broken state.
WORLD & ITEMS
  • Fixed an issue where the seal pedestal in one of the Saltwater Mines maps could be sunken into the ground.
  • Fixed trees in the Fae Realm having snow on them when it is winter in Azoria.
  • Fixed minor visual artifacting in the mist coming from a dungeon’s exterior door.
  • Fixed an issue where the eyes on Woolyhorns could pop in and out when getting closer.
  • Fixed a small graphical issue with the Blue Catfish while in water.
INTERFACE
  • Fixed buff symbols and descriptions not showing on items for sale at August, Vera and Balarandi’s shops.
  • Fixed a visual issue in Construction Mode where items could appear as placeable (blue) when off the farm grid, where they cannot be placed.
  • Fixed a bug with mouse input in the Mailbox where trying to click and drag the scroll bar on a long message resulted in re-selecting the first letter in the Mailbox instead.
  • [Coasts of Croakia] Fixed a visual issue where unequipping trinkets could look like multiple were gained in toast messages.
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Added further protections against saving client data when it is in a bad state (and could result in creating a new character when next rejoining the world).
  • Further improvements to handling of common inoffensive words in the profanity filter.
  • Fixed a number of typos and other text errors in English and localized languages.

Fae Farm – Ver. 2.1.0

  • Improved critter positioning behaviour when taming a new critter buddy.
  • Fixed a bug where a critter buddy’s protective bubble in dungeons would be missing if they started following while in the dungeon itself.
  • Fixed a bug where multiple critter buddies could be following the player at once if they were in the taming dialogue at the End of Day.
  • Fixed a bug where the prompt to pet your active critter buddy would disappear if you chose to talk with them, then backed out.
  • Fixed missing audio for Dragonfly-type buddies when following, and generally improved audio behaviour for flying critter buddies.
  • Fixed an exploit that could be used to duplicate Trinkets.
  • Swapped the catch experience and sale prices for Frobins and Borealis to match the intended design.
COASTS OF CROAKIA – PROGRESSION & QUESTS
  • Fixed cases where the “equip a Trinket” objective of the “Please Visit the Gift Shop” quest could automatically mark as complete, or not complete correctly when equipping higher-tier trinkets.
  • Fixed a bug where Magic Job Quest 10 would count progress twice if you had a critter buddy following you.
  • Fixed a case where the “Exit Through The Gift Shop” achievement could trigger without actually equipping a Trinket.
COASTS OF CROAKIA – WORLD & ITEMS
  • Made a number of environmental art and collision fixes on Archi-Pal-igo Park, and around Grenu in Stay-A-While Bay.
  • Critter spawn adjustments on Archi-Pal-igo Park:
    • Added more spawn locations for base-game critters in some quiet areas of Archi-Pal-igo Park.
    • For the new critters added in Coasts of Croakia, made the “common” types spawn 10% more often, and the “rare” types spawn 10% less often.
    • Increased the per-day spawn chance for Gwurms and Sunslugs specifically (the rare Worm-type critters).
  • Reduced the conching difficulty, and increased the time critters stick around before disappearing, for some critters that were more difficult than intended (such as Willow Wisps and some Worm-type critters).
  • The Coasts of Croakia items Yellow Leaf Print Rug, Lily Pad Rug, and Croakia Rug now correctly return Cotton Fabric on deconstruction.
  • Fixed a bug where the dropped version of Coasts of Croakia critters could look distorted after loading back into a save.
COASTS OF CROAKIA – INTERFACE
  • Added “new item” indicators to Riffs and the Conches in the Almanac.
  • Added a message that appears if unequipping a Trinket with a full inventory, to explain it has gone to the Storage Shed.
  • Fixed an input issue with the Buddy Binder screen that could cause some functions (like jumping) to not always work after closing it.
  • Fixed the wrong slot being highlighted by default when opening the Buddy Binder using a controller.
  • Fixed a bug where equipping a mana-increasing Trinket did not update the stats interface.
  • Fixed a bug where equipping a Trinket from a full inventory would leave the full indicator on your interface.
  • Fixed a bug where quitting and reloading a save could remove the current critter buddy’s icon from the interface.
COASTS OF CROAKIA – MULTIPLAYER
  • Fixed clients’ critter buddies persisting in the session after their owner player leaves.
  • Fixed a bug where a critter buddy’s protective bubble in dungeons was missing for multiplayer clients.
  • Fixed an issue that could occur where Worm-type critters’ “roll away” flee animation did not play for multiplayer clients.
  • Fixed a critter’s name missing in the taming dialogue when playing as a multiplayer client.
  • Fixed a bug where nametags for remote players on Archi-Pal-igo Park could show up when viewing the Scorched Caverns entrance.
COASTS OF CROAKIA – MISCELLANEOUS
  • Improved hand contact with the Conch during animation transitions and on certain body types.
  • Fixed a minor visual seam that could be seen on Worm-type critters.
MAIN GAME – GAMEPLAY
  • In response to player feedback, significant improvements have been made to the single-player Pause behaviour in Fae Farm, and how it interacts with both the World Clock (the in-game day time), and other game features:
    • Using Construction and Decoration modes, inside and outside your home, will now pause the World Clock. Crafting and Conversion screens will still tick down time otherwise they would not continue to process.
    • Buff and Debuff timers will now pause any time the World Clock does (for example when in the Pause menu). No more wasted potions! If a potion gives a passive effect like a speed boost, it may remain active while the World Clock is paused.
    • When the World Clock gets paused, Animals and Jumbles will complete their current animation and then pause, and players will not be able to die.
    • The World Clock will no longer tick down while on a loading screen.
  • In addition, the following improvements have been made to Pause in multiplayer:
    • At the end of a day in multiplayer, the day will no longer automatically start. Instead, it will start when the first player chooses to move on from the Market Results screen. A new section has also been added to this screen to message to other players that you are ready to go or need them to wait, for cases where players are not communicating outside the game.
    • If all players in a multiplayer session are either in the Pause Menu, Construction Mode, Decoration Mode, or on the End of Day screen, the World Clock will be paused. We intend to add to these “pause cases” for multiplayer to fully match the expanded single-player triggers in a future update.
  • Planted flowers (including hybrids) can now be reclaimed to seeds in Construction Mode, allowing them to be replanted elsewhere. The newly added seeds can also be sold: the base colours for 3 Florins, and the variant colours for 5 Florins.
  • The Vortex Spell and Wind Potions can now affect fruit trees and berry bushes!
  • Added a fade to animals’ catch up teleport, so it looks less abrupt.
  • Fixed an issue with Propagation Hives that could cause fruit trees to be spawned outside of the buildable area of the farm. Any of these existing rogue trees should be cleaned up at the start of the next game day.
  • Fixed a case where animals may not eat on a given day, resulting in no generated material for that day (occurred if animals were not called out of the barn and the player did not enter it).
  • Fixed a bug blocking use of the Conch, Staff, Critter Net, or Fishing Rod at the start of a new day, if they were equipped when the previous day ended.
MAIN GAME – PROGRESSION & QUESTS
  • Animal Care Job Quest 10 has had its objective changed based on player feedback – it now requires only successfully breeding each charm-coloured animal (of any type) once. Base animals are no longer required. In addition, a “Successfully Bred: Yes/No” tracker has been added for each colour charm in the Almanac so you can track your progress.
  • Fixed an issue blocking completion of the “Wave of Emotion” side quest.
  • Fixed an edge case stuck state that could occur when choosing to skip Chapter 1 on a new save, then quitting out.
  • Fixed an edge case state where players could get stuck in main quest progression and not unlock the first quest of a new chapter. Any players who are currently in this state will be recovered by the update and able to continue.
  • Fixed a bug where progress on sprite bundle quests could be partially reset after saving, quitting, and loading back into the game.
  • Fixed Animal Care Job Quests 3, 6 and 9 to now actually reset partial progress when starting a new day, as intended.
  • Fixed friendship quests having a chance to request Coasts of Croakia items for players who did not own Coasts of Croakia.
  • Fixed an issue where new areas could appear on the map early, when they were intended to appear on the next day.
MAIN GAME – WORLD & CHARACTERS
  • Added unique vendor dialogue to Pearl, Rosalind, and Tamael.
  • Adjusted Iron Ore and Coal deposits to be more visually distinct.
  • Added a prompt to the A-frame board in the market that lets you view the previous day’s sales.
  • Improved Jumbles spawning in bad positions in the Floating Ruins.
  • Adjusted the position of the Artisan Table, Beverage Station, Decorating Table, Food Prep Table, Gem Polisher, Lumber Station, Seal Crafting Station and Stone Forge to be better aligned with the construction grid.
  • The cooking hearth now “wiggles” when it is in progress, like the other crafting stations.
  • Fixed a corrupted texture displaying in the floor of the second animal barn.
  • Fixed a case where spouses may not turn up to their own wedding due to a scheduling conflict.
  • Fixed a bug causing Alaric to sit drinking tea on an invisible chair on thunderstorm evenings. Spooky.

  • Fixed sand in the Saltwater Mines being unintentionally affected by time of day lighting.

  • Fixed a bug where the dropped versions of a number of frogs and sprites did not animate.
  • Fixed the visual preview of the Animal Lure’s area of effect not showing appearing when placing it.
  • Economy adjustments:
    • To better enable decoration and creativity, many rugs and fences have had their crafting cost reduced from refined materials (like Beech Lumber or Cotton Fabric) to a lower amount of their unrefined form (like Beech Logs or Raw Cotton). Fancier designs will still require more materials than the basic designs. Please note that reclaiming already placed versions of the affected items will now give you back the new costs.
    • Maple Moths now sell for 60 Florins (up from 30), and Queen Bees now sell for 40 Florins (down from 50).
MAIN GAME – INTERFACE
  • The Stats Info overlay (accessible with Z by default on keyboard, or pressing RS/R3 on a controller) has been significantly updated. It now includes clear countdowns and effect descriptions for all active buffs and debuffs (including those from Trinkets).

  • Fixed “backpack is full” messages not displaying for multiplayer clients.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause tougher fish to not get tired as often as intended when a client in a multiplayer session.

  • Fixed a bug where a joining client could briefly be seen in an odd animation as they loaded into a multiplayer session.
  • Fixed a bug where the wrong character portrait could appear for joining players in a multiplayer session.

Through the content update’s main questline, players gain access to a new upgradable tool, the Conch, which enables them to learn a variety of critter languages. Beyond the cuteness overload, pet critters grant players a dozen different types of buffs to equip, allowing them to further customize their loadouts depending on their current quest or activity.

Alternatively, players who have completed the main story can easily jump right into the Coasts of Croakia content update and experience it as a standalone adventure.
  • In parallel to this new content and as part of the same update, several important improvements have been brought to the game, including new and unique dialogs to existing vendor NPCs, the ability to store more items in house storage, more intuitive interactions with farm animals and several bug fixes.

Fae Farm – Ver. 1.4.0

  • Release date: October 17th 2023 (North America, Europe)
  • Patch notes:

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed issues that could cause you to spawn in a black void outside the map, or in a rock near the starter farm, when loading a save.
  • The game clock will now pause when using the storage shed or mailbox while in single player.
  • Fixed an issue where using keyboard shortcuts to open interface screens that should pause the game clock was not actually pausing.
  • Fixed an issue that could block holding to plant multiple items from working as intended.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause fertilizer to be applied immediately after planting seeds on wet soil.
  • Fixed the chance of generating a sapling using a Propagation Hive being much lower than intended.
  • Improved the behaviour of the Blamp waves in dungeons, to more gradually increase their presence as you go through floors, and to help with performance on lower-end devices.
  • Fixed an issue where Cannots could disappear when in combat near dungeon walls.
  • Fixed an issue causing some potion effects (such as Jar of Sadness or Jar of Bees) moving at unintended speeds depending on framerate.
  • Fixed an issue where opening the construction menu on your farm could result in the camera zooming to another farm location.
  • Slightly repositioned a signpost near the starter farm that could interfere with the placement of, and interaction with, items very close to it when using mouse on PC.
  • Honeycomb can now be found in the Prepared Ingredients section of the Almanac and Storage; it was previously missing a category.

PROGRESSION

  • Fixed an issue that could block quest progression if for any reason a required story cutscene did not play. Players who are in this state should now be able to progress.
  • Fixed an issue where you could back out of or cancel the dialogue after accepting a quest, resulting in it not actually being accepted.
  • Fixed an issue where delivering an item for a sprite quest could not count if you had a shipping contract that was also asking for the same item.
  • Fixed a rare issue where the order of your tools could get set incorrectly, blocking upgrading them.
  • Fixed an issue where festival quests could sometimes take more items than they requested, if you had them in your inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where clovers collected using the Vortex spell did not count towards the achievement.
  • Fixed an issue where Magic job quest 10 could not be progressed as a client in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an issue where accepting the quest Fae Farming Evolved did not grant you a Bounteous Fertilizer as intended.
  • XP earned from harvesting Sugar Cane will now go to Foraging, not Farming.

RELATIONSHIPS

Changed the behavior of relationship progress, based on player feedback:

  • Relationship points can still be earned by interacting with an NPC for the first time each day, by completing relationship quests, and by giving gifts, all at the same rate as before.
  • When you reach the points threshold for a date, you will still receive the mail inviting you on it, and you must read this mail in your mailbox in order to get the date option on the NPC.
  • You will no longer earn any relationship points from any source for this NPC, until you go on the date.
  • After the date, you can continue to progress again, up until the next date.
  • This will solve the case where players could get very high relationship progress with an NPC without ever going on a date.
  • For players who already have relationship progress, no progress is being reset or regressed with this change. However, if you already built a high relationship level with an NPC you had not dated, you may now get a number of date requests in a row.
  • A reminder that if (due to the previous behavior) you have a higher relationship level with an NPC than you would want, you can reset it in the Relationships screen.

In addition to that feedback, we are also implementing these changes:

  • Fixed an issue where an NPC could appear as your spouse without you marrying them. Following this update, only an NPC you have actually had a wedding with will show as your spouse.
  • Fixed an issue where quitting the game between paying for a wedding and it being held could result in the wedding not taking place and the relationship being stuck at “Fiancé”. Players who were in this stuck state will now correctly move on to the “Spouse” status with this NPC.
  • Added a fix-up to help with a situation where the day ending in multiplayer while in the wedding outfit selection screen could cause the wedding to not occur, and you to be stuck at “Fiancé”.
  • Players who were in this stuck state will now have their wedding automatically scheduled on the next available day, with the Fae outfit selected (although all three will be added to their inventory after the wedding).
  • Please note that the causing bug here can still occur (and will be fixed in a future update) but if you encounter it, leaving and reloading your save will now trigger the fix-up.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred if you reset your relationship with Pyria while in the Dating, Getting Serious, or Spouse statuses.
  • Fixed an issue where the view could be obscured if you initiated a date while sitting down.
  • Fixed an issue blocking clients in a multiplayer session from receiving date requests.
  • Fixed unintended symbols appearing in dialog when a wedding took place in a multiplayer session.

ANIMAL CARE

  • Fixed animals getting into a state where they no longer produced materials.
  • Fixed a number of issues that could result in breeding being canceled, and animals being returned to their coops.
  • Fixed an issue where sold animals could reappear in your barns after saving and loading the game.
  • Fixed an issue where animals from the first and second farms would appear at the most recently-placed Animal Lure, regardless of which farm it was placed at.
  • Removed the brush status icon from appearing in the ledger next to animals that cannot be brushed.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Fixed an issue that could occur where clients joining a multiplayer session did not correctly go through the join process, arriving as the default character (with no character creator) and missing key tools.
  • Alongside this fix, players who are detected to be in this bad state will be returned to the character creator to correctly set up their character as a new one – this will unfortunately result in lost progress for players who were able to continue despite missing key items, as we will reset their progress to get them back into a good state to play.
  • Fixed an issue where transferring items from the storage shed or crafting stations in multiplayer sessions could result in them being lost or overwriting an item already in your inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where clients playing on Switch would be disconnected after pressing the Home button on the system.
  • Fixed an issue where the game client could become temporarily unresponsive when accepting a multiplayer invite or choosing to Host Online in the Steam version of the game.
  • Fixed an issue that blocked clients of a multiplayer session receiving the “Interested in Dyes?” letter in their mailbox, stopping them from being able to claim the free dye set. Affected players should now receive this and be able to claim these dyes.
  • Fixed an issue where Eutats and Ember Eutats attacks did not damage clients in a multiplayer session.
  • Fixed an issue causing jumping/diving animations in water to not animate correctly when playing as a client in a multiplayer session.
  • Fixed an issue where the map tracker did not correctly point to other players if they were in a dungeon.
  • You will now receive a notification on the right of the screen when you receive a Phoenix Labs friend request, as well as if someone accepts one that you send.

  • Fixed an overlap between the “next day” panel and the scroll prompt in the End of Day screen.
  • The details panel panel of the Tools Progression screen can now be scrolled with mouse wheel on PC.
  • Removed a message that would incorrectly tell you that you can only sleep in your main house, when interacting with a bed in another house. As a reminder, you only get the coziness-based stat boosts if you sleep in the relevant house’s bed.
  • Fixed an issue that required pressing select/back inputs twice for them to function on PC on the first day of a new season.
  • Fixed an issue that could block selecting a body type in the Character Creator with mouse.
  • The current build version of the game will now show in the bottom of the Settings screen, to assist with bug report and Player Support investigations.

  • Release date: September 21st 2023 (North America, Europe)

  • Updated the name of “Small Honeycomb” to just “Honeycomb”.
