Etrian Odyssey V: latest class trailers (Harbinger, Shaman)

Over the past few days, Atlus uploaded two new trailers for Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, introducing two new classes: Harbinger and Shaman.

Let’s start with the Harbinger class. Characters from that one wield both a giant scythe and a mysterious energy known as Miasma. As reapers of destructions, they can dish out damage by cutting down enemies, but that’s not all they can do. They can also protect your team, using miasma to heal the party members… ok, ok, they can also use that miasma to hurt enemies.

But that’s not all: using TP, they can summon miasma armor with either passive support or status ailment abilities: curse, paralyse… you name it! There’s just one, little catch… that miasma armour drains HP, so use it wisely.

If you have had your dose of doom for the day, here’s something much cuter… the Shaman class!

The trick with that class is that they don’t really deal damage themselves, they “simply” buff the party members so that they can rain down even more pain on enemies instead. But there’s more: they can also use various prayers to help said party memebers deal more damage and take more hits. They can provide boost stats, raise resistances, nullify all buffs to unleash a deadly attack wave, and more.

Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Labyrinth (3DS) comes out on October 17th in Europe and North America.
