Etrian Odyssey V: details about the story, screenshots; various editions detailed

Etrian Odyssey VStory

Thanks to Gematsu, we have a translation of the official synopsis for the story of Etrian Odyssey V. As mentioned previously, the game takes place in a world called Arcadia, where a huge ancient tree known as Yggdrasil can be found. Its thanks to him that the land is blessed with peace. According to a legend, anyone courageous enough to climb all the way to its top will have their dreams come true.

At the bottom of the tree, the city of Aolith can be found: it’s where the courageous adventurers looking to climb the Yggdrasil gather. In the game, you get to play as one of the adventurers trying to climb that tree. It doesn’t matter if your goal is wealth, honor, or simply to satisfy your sense of adventure, you will have to go through the labyrinths and reach the top of the Yggdrasil.

We are given some key words: “The power to dominate the world.” “The most powerful.” “The world’s mysteries.” “Expensive treasures.”
