Crown Trick

Team17 have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: Crown Trick, an “adventure RPG roguelike” developed by NExT Studios. It will be released this Summer in Europe and North America.

Here’s a trailer, some details, the list of key features, and a couple of screenshots:

Crown Trick is set in the daunting Nightmare Realm, a labyrinthine, underground world filled with monsters and traps. You will have to master the elements and combine dozens of skills, while planning the best strategy, to overcome deadly enemies that stand still until their plan of attack is executed. As the quest continues, you will have the opportunity to gain access to high-level skills – Familiars – secured from the elite monsters that roam the dungeon, increasing the chances of both success and survival.

Set in a procedurally generated maze-like dungeon, Crown Trick is steeped in strategic, synchronous, turn-based gameplay where enemy decisions and actions are only revealed when players make their moves, and features hundreds of weapons, skills, and items on hand to customise and evolve the combat style as the quest progresses.

A finalist in the Indie Prize (Asia) 2019 Awards, Crown Trick is set in the daunting Nightmare Realm, a labyrinthine, underground world filled with monsters and traps. Players will have to master the elements and combine dozens of skills, while planning the best strategy, to overcome deadly enemies that stand still until their plan of attack is executed. As the quest continues, players will have the opportunity to gain access to high-level skills – Familiars – secured from the elite monsters that roam the dungeon, increasing the chances of both success and survival.

  • Engaging strategic gameplay: Monsters and traps move only when the player moves; carefully thought out strategies are key to escaping the labyrinthine dungeon
  • Fight how you want: Create and develop a unique combat style with dozens of active and passive skills and abilities, items, and relics help create different ways to cut through enemy encounters
  • Learn from enemies: Gather elite ‘Familiar’ skills by overcoming enemies ready to unleash on others deeper in the dungeon
  • Different dungeons every time: The procedurally generated maze ensures players have unique experiences every time they enter the Nightmare Realm

They Breathe

Bulbware have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: They Breathe, an indie horror game originally developed by The Working Parts. This version of the game will feature local co-op, and it will be released on July 29th in Europe and North America.

Here’s a trailer, some details, the list of key features, and some pictures for the game:

A lone frog descends into the depths of a flooded forest, not yet knowing the full extent of its tragedy. To survive in a brutal, oxygen-obsessed ecosystem, you must help it see the patterns and hidden truths that make up the rules of the forest – horrible as they may be. Rebuilt from ground up and enhanced with local co-op mode, They Breathe has been ported & published by Bulbware to bring it to Nintendo enthusiasts.

They Breathe is a critically acclaimed indie gem. In thirty short minutes, the game leaves it up to you to figure out every part of its increasingly bizarre universe, in order to survive the onslaught of unexpected creatures and ultimately comprehend their true nature. No matter how your descent to the bottom of the forest takes shape, it is guaranteed to give you the chills without a single word of dialog.

CAN YOU SEE IT? In the first game of The Working Parts, a lone frog descends into the depths of a flooded forest, not yet knowing the full extent of its tragedy. To survive in a brutal, oxygen-obsessed ecosystem, you must help it see the patterns and hidden truths that make up the system – horrible as they may be.

  • An increasingly surreal aquatic journey of disturbing sights and horrible discoveries
  • Designed to minimize hand-holding, the game leaves you to your own devices and experiences
  • Gorgeous hand-animated HD art-style inspired by Swedish folk and children’s tales
  • A mysterious story where the game’s environments, rules and mechanics are the only clues
  • Extensive “Making of” feature and online gallery
