DREDGE – Ver. 1.4.2

  • Release date: December 18th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:
Adjustments
  • Various optimizations to reduce the game’s memory usage and improve load times.
  • Reduced the volume of the Aurous Anchor’s portal idle SFX.
Fixes
  • The grids at the ice shards in The Pale Reach now only accept ice axes.
  • Fixed an issue where some lines of text (at The Airman, and The Collector) would hang when run in some languages (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) with Text Speed set to “Fast”.
    • We’re aware of a few more instances of this occurring in some side quests, specifically when refusing to pick up quest items from NPCs. To avoid this, you can either:
      • Reload, and do not refuse the item.
      • Change your text speed to “Normal”.
  • Added missing ambient audio to the shrine in The Pale Reach.
  • Fixed a typo in the line that describes the dog vomiting.

DREDGE – Ver. 1.4.0

  • Release date: November 16th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:
For owners of

The Pale Reach
  • Added The Pale Reach area – and all the features and content it contains.
    • Players can check their map to see how to get to this new area.
For all players
  • Features
    • Added a “Heartbeat SFX” setting to the Accessibility tab. This can be disabled to silence in-game SFX that feature a heartbeat. (These SFX are mostly in The Pale Reach)
  • Adjustments
    • The “Quests” and “Messages” screens now have multiple tabs.
    • Increased the size of the Message Detail window, and the text size.
    • Added an “Additional Content” button to the main menu.
    • Slightly rearranged the Encyclopedia layout to show an icon representing the area that a species is found in.
    • Equipment that provides an aberration bonus will now provide it all the time (previously, damaged equipment would not add its bonus to the total).
    • Added and updated some names in the Credits.
  • Fixes
    • The game should no longer silently overwrite a corrupt save when loading from the main menu. It will now show an error message directing players to customer support for recovery assistance.
    • Fixed an issue introduced in 1.3.0 that caused crashes when reading some messages in some languages.
    • Fixed an issue where the dock at Ingfell would disappear if you looked at it from the wrong angle.

    • Fixed an issue where restoring settings back to default would cause the game to forget which save to use for the ‘Continue’ button.
    • Fixed an issue where the in-game time would slow or sometimes stop progressing completely for some players. This usually occurred on long-running saves of over 150 days of in-game progress.
    • Fixed an issue where some Red Snapper, Barreleye and Ghost Shark fishing spots were not repopulating correctly.
    • Fixed an issue where a couple of the wildlife encounters could very occasionally breach through islands.

DREDGE – Ver. 1.3.0

  • Release date: September 18th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:
Features
  • Added Boat Customization
    • After you’ve acquired your dredge crane as part of the main story, a new character will set up shop at Little Marrow –
The Painter! He’ll be able to make adjustments to your boat’s appearance.
    • The Painter starts with some basic options available, but you’ll be able to discover additional paint ingredients and flag designs.
  • Added crab aberrations (craberrations).
  • Added a new filter to the Encyclopedia to display Crabs.
  • Added a number of new shipwrecks around the world.
Adjustments
  • Equipment tooltips now display the previously hidden “Aberration Catch Bonus” statistic.
    • Slightly buffed some of these values on some rods.
  • Rebalanced crab pots slightly.
    • All crab pots provide some aberration catch bonus, with higher tier / special pots offering a larger bonus.
    • Mouth of The Deep catch rate and duration reduced to make progressing the crab pot tech tree more meaningful.
Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where in very rare cases, the game would take longer than expected to save. Losing power during this time would cause save files (and in some cases, backup save files) to become corrupt.
  • Added a new font which should handle Japanese characters better and prevent them from falling back to use Chinese characters in some scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking on the boat upgrade purchase button too quickly could cause the screen to get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue where some areas of the sea floor reported that they were 100m+ deep when they clearly were not.
  • Fixed an issue where some achievements would not trigger immediately if the last thing they required was for you to catch a crab.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck on the map screen if it was switched to another screen while a marker was being placed.
  • Fixed some small animation issues.

DREDGE – Ver. 1.2.0

  • Release date: July 6th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)

    • Photos will be captured to your system’s in-built gallery on most platforms.
  • Added Passive Mode
    • This mode can be activated at any stage by selecting the option from the Settings menu. In this mode, you’ve nothing to fear from the creatures of the deep.
  • Added 10 new aberrations
  • Added 8 new types of wildlife for you to encounter, including one that isn’t afraid of the shallows…
  • Added new settings
    • Camera Follow Mode – you can now detach the camera from the boat’s turning orientation. This means that when the boat turns, the camera won’t automatically turn to look in the boat’s new direction.
    • Spyglass Sensitivity – sliders for horizontal and vertical movement.
    • Haste VFX – disables the visual effects (FOV pull & screen shake) that occur when the Haste ability is activated.
Adjustments
  • Added a new “General” tab to Settings and moved some options around.
  • Added a couple of new names to the credits.
  • Updated Dolphin SFX.
  • Dolphins and some other events are discouraged from swimming over the abyss of Stellar Basin.
Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the Crab Pot / Trawl Net information panel didn’t show correctly the first time if the game was loaded with either of these abilities pre-selected.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze when downgrading a trawl net to another net with a smaller internal capacity.
  • Fixed an issue where discarding the package from The Mayor never removed the associated map marker.
  • Fixed an issue where an island in Devil’s Spine was culling incorrectly.
  • Fixed some localization issues.

And for our speedrunning community…

  • The Haste activation SFX does not play if Haste was deactivated recently.

  • All basic material spots (Lumber, Scrap and Cloth) now restock over time.

Fixes
  • Fixed a rare issue where save files could become corrupted on PC, which also prevented new save files from being created. (PC only)
    • If you load the game with any save files that have already been corrupted, the game will remove these files and allow you to create a new save.
    • Players still experiencing issues with the game not loading should delete their settings file.
  • Fixed a rare issue where some equipment could go missing when upgrading to a larger hull.
    • Added a fallback system to hold excess items in extreme cases.
    • Missing dredge cranes have been restored to players affected by this bug. (Consoles only, PC received this fix in v1.0.4)
  • Fixed an issue where the Prey Sighted and Servant of the Shrines achievements would not unlock correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where more than 5 trinkets could not be sold at a time to the Trader when playing in Russian.
  • Fixed a few localization issues.
  • Added 4 missing Playtester credits
