Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3: scan and details (world, riding system, Reactor)

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3Announced back in July, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 is still rather mysterious, with very little details avaiable. However, this may change in a few hours, as it’s quite likely the game will be showcased in the Japanese Nintendo Direct. In the mean time, we do have some additional tidbits from Jump magazine.

The magazine reveals that the “name” of the world is “Break World”. Apparently, it’s divided in several continents, and looks like it was broken in several pieces. There’s various interesting places there, such as futuristic-looking cities (pretty different from the rest of the series), areas entirely covered in ice, wilderness, and more.

We also get additional details about the riding system, which allows you to ride pretty much any monsters in the game (regardless of their species or size). As you progress through the game, you will unlock some “abilities”, such as being able to perform a double jump, attack enemies in the field in order to get the first strike, but also fly in order to reach areas you couldn’t normally reach on foot.

Finally, we learn that the Reactor (a strange device the protagonist wears on his head) can not only be used to analyse monsters, but also detect secret treasure chests, paths of light, and much more.

Here’s the scans from Jump magazine:

Here’s some additional scans from Jump magazine, for Monster Hunter X and Hyrule Warriors Legends (nothing really new):

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 (3DS) comes out next year in Japan.
Monster Hunter X (3DS) comes out on November 28th in Japan.
Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS) comes out on January 21st in Japan, and early next year in Europe and North America.
