Today, Nintendo announced a partnership with the San Francisco Public Libray, in order to teach kids the basics of video game level design using Super Mario Maker. The event will be called The Mix, and will take place from March 30 (3 p.m. PT).

Here’s a rundown of the event:

During the Super Mario Maker event, kids and their parents will have the opportunity to attend special workshops hosted by Nintendo game experts that will introduce them to video game level design using the Super Mario Maker game. Kids will be split into groups and given hands-on time with the game and shown the ins and outs of game level design. The kids will be encouraged to work together to design their own courses in the game – the more creative, the better! The courses will then be available to play by anyone that owns Super Mario Maker and has Internet access by entering special course codes in the game. Course codes will be shared after the event concludes.
