PAW Patrol: On A Roll

Yesterday, Outright Games announced another game for the Nintendo Switch, this time based on the PAW Patrol series. Called PAX Patrol: On A Roll will be released this September in Europe and North America.

Here’s what the game is all about:

PAW Patrol follows the adventures of a pack of heroic rescue pups-Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and Tracker-who are led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder. Together they work hard to protect the Adventure Bay community believing no job is too big, no pup is too small!  The series features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, social skills and problem-solving.

In Outright Games’ PAW Patrol: On a Roll, players join Ryder and all eight PAW Patrol Pups for 16 exciting rescue missions. Help each pup use their unique abilities to rescue friends and keep their community safe. Jump into eight awesome Adventure Bay locations, including Farmer Yumi’s Farm, Jake’s Mountain, a desert canyon, under the waves, and more. The game’s fun puzzle-platforming action is “PAW-fect” for kids of all ages.

PAW Patrol: On A Roll (Switch) comes out in September in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!

Sonic The Hedgehog movie

Yesterday, SEGA announced they had signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to co-produce a Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Unlike the recently announced Mario movie, this one will mix live-action and CG, and will premiere on November 15th 2019 (with other countries to follow).

The CG animation elements will be done by MARZA Animation Planet (actually owned by SEGA Group, and also service as producer), that some of you probably know for their work on the 3D anime series for the Chi’s Sweet Home series. The press release also mentions an “assembly of high-profile talent”, such as:

  • Producer Neal H. Moritz from Original Film Inc. (“Fast and Furious” series)
  • Director Jeff Fowler (Blur Studio, Academy Award nominee for 2005 Best Animated Short Film “Gopher Broke.”)
  • Executive producer Tim Miller (director of the Marvel/Fox feature “Deadpool” and owner of animation and CG production company Blur Studio)

I’m honestly more interested in the Super Mario movie than the Sonic one. Combining CG with live action doesn’t sound like a good idea…
