Dai Gyakuten Saiban: details on how Mikotoba Susato was created, screenshots, video

Dai Gyakuten Saiban

Mikotoba Susato

Yesterday, Capcom revealed the second character video for Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken, which introduces Mikotoba Susato. She’s Naruhodou Ryuunosuke’s “assistant”, and she travels with him to London. In the video, Shu Takumi (Director) explains that her name came from combining kanji (Japanese characters) that he found pretty.

Mikotoba Susato is really into mystery novels, but also reading in general. Therefore, she proves a rather valuable and knowledgeable assistant, who often helps by providing very useful information. From time to time, she says some rather strange (but still pretty interesting) quotes out of the blue. She loves sweets, too.

For her design, the focus was on making her an elegant Japanese woman, and since the game takes place during the Meiji Era, it’s really no surprise that she is wearing a kimono. Apparently, Shu Takumi had plenty of ideas for her design, but in the end, he preferred to keep things simple. More than once, she appears more mature than Naruhodou Ryuunosuke himself, which is why the duo work so well together.
