Corpse PartyThis week, we learned from the ESRB that XSEED was planning to release the Nintendo 3DS version of Corpse Party (a port of the PSP remake of the very first game on PC, with some additional content). And today, XSEED confirmed it, and revealed that this version would launch this Summer in North America!

Corpse Party on Nintendo 3DS features:

  • redrawn, high-resolution character sprites;
  • newly arranged music tracks;
  • 3D art stills;
  • four new Extra Chapters (exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version of the game), that provide insight into lesser-shown characters and plot elements previously left unexplained.

Corpse Party will be available:

  • on the Nintendo eShop (where it will cost $29.99);
  • at retail, only as a Limited Edition called “Back to School”. It will cost $49.99, and includes:
  1. figures of Naomi Nakashima and Seiko Shinohara;
  2. soundtrack CD (~80 minutes of music from the game, including three tracks only found in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game).

Here’s a teaser trailer for the game:

Here’s the boxart and the packaging for the Limited Edition, as well as some screenshots:

Unfortunately, we don’t know if/when the game will be released in Europe, but it’s quite likely it will get a digital release via Marvelous Europe down the line. Hopefully, we will get an announcement within the next few weeks!

Corpse Party (3DS) comes out this Summer in North America.
