Bloodstained: new stretch goal reached, first gameplay footage (off-screen)

Today, a new update was posted on the Bloodstained Kickstarter page. First, they showed a mock-up of the Collector’s Edition, which is available if you pledge at least 250$. It includes a unique poster, illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano himself. What’s more, a new reward tier was added: if you pledge 800$, you can get a hand-signed of that Collector’s Box!

Here’s what Yoshitaka Amano had to say about this poster:

“Sumi-e (Charcoal Brush) is one of my favorite styles! Being able to mix the gothic aesthetic with a Sumi-e touch will make for a beautiful piece of art. It’s a style that I hope backers from all over the world can enjoy. Welcome to my Sumie-stained world!”

If you’re interested, a new set of castle portraits (the last ones) were added. If you want to see your face in-game, this is your last chance!

Next: a development update! The very first gameplay video was shown, but not only was it recorded off-screen, it’s also from a very, very early build of the game, and it shows some early animation.

Finally, a good news for fans of video game music: another stretch goal was reached, which means that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will get some orchestrated tracks. The composers (Yamane and Yamada) did confirm that the soundtrack would have a lot of variety, which means it won’t be made entirely of orchestrated tracks… far from it. With this stretch goal, the composers will be able to add live instrumentation where it makes sense.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will come out on Wii U.
