Blazblue Cross Tag Battle: release dates, DLC, and Limited Edition announced

Last week, during a special event, Arc System Works announced that Blazblue Cross Tag Battle would be released on May 31st in Japan and Asia, and June 5th in North America. Unfortunately, no release date was provided for Europe, so we don’t know if there will be a simultaneous release or not. In Japan, the game will cost 5 800 Yen + taxes at retail, and 5 370 Yen + taxes on the Nintendo eShop.

A new character was also revealed: Blake ・ Belladonna, from RWBY (already added to this page). Speaking of characters, Arc System Works announced that the game would have no less than 40 of them… but there’s a catch. 20 of those characters will be locked behind DLC, though we don’t know how much everything is going to cost (and when it will be released). In fact, Blake ・ Belladonna is one of the DLC characters!

Here’s all the DLC planned for the game:

  • All-in-One Pack
  • Blake ・ Belladonna (free)
  • Yang Xiao Long (free)
  • Vol. 1: 3 characters
  • Vol. 2: 3 characters
  • Vol. 3: 3 characters
  • Vol. 4: 3 characters
  • Vol. 5: 3 characters
  • Vol. 6: 3 characters
  • DLC character

But that’s not all: Arc System Works also announced that the game would get a Limited Edition in Japan: the BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE Limited Box. The box features a special illustration by Mori Toshimichi (Arc System Works), Shigenori Soejima (Atlus), Seiichi Yoshiha, and Ein Lee (Rooster Teeth). It includes a Download Code for DLC, an artbook, and more. Arc System Works is also planning to release a soundtrack album.

Here’s everything included in the Limited Edition:

  • Special box
  • Download Code for the All-in-One Pack (DLC)
  • Artbook
  • Nintendo Switch pouch

Finally, here’s various pictures for the game (screenshots, artworks, Limited Edition boxart):
