ACA NeoGeo Series: patches now available, The King of Fighters ’94 out tomorrow

Last week, Hamster announced they would release a patch for the ACA NeoGeo Series titles on the Nintendo Switch. The goal is to fix two major issues with the games: the brightness, and the audio lag. The good news is, that update is already available for download in all three main regions: Japan, Europe, and North America.

The patch is for the following titles:

  • NAM-1975

To download the updates for the ACA NeoGeo Series titles manually, you have two options:

  • try to launch each game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

While the brightness issue is truly fixed for all games, it looks like the audio lag is still there for some titles (which means that Hamster may have to release another patch for the impacted titles).

But that’s not all: Hamster also announced that the 7th game in the series would be The King of Fighters ’94, and that it would be released… tomorrow, in Europe and Japan (North America will most likely get it on the same day)! It will cost 6.99€ / £ 6.29 / 823 Yen, and will require 109Mo of free space on your Nintendo Switch or your microSD Card.

The game is compatible with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, and just like the others in the ACA NeoGeo Series, it will be playable in Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Italina, and German.

Here’s some screenshots for the game:

The Upcoming Releases page, the line-up for the Nintendo eShop in Europe, and the list of games with English (and other languages) options on the Japanese Nintendo eShop have both been updated!
