Pokémon Sun and Moon: new details from CoroCoro (Rockruff evolution, Ultra Beasts)
Pokémon Sun and Moon
On Wednesday, The Pokémon Company will reveal the latest batch of details for Pokémon Sun and Moon. The following day, the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine will be released, most likely covering the same content. But thanks to the usual leaks, we already have some of the new details!
First, the magazine reveals what was teased in last month’s issue: Rockruff’s evolution. Its name is Lugarugan, and its appearance changes depending on the time of day it evolves (Day or Night). Unfortunately, we don’t know anything else about those two forms (such as their type, moves, abilities, etc.).
CoroCoro magazine also reveals two new Ultra Beasts (version-exclusives), which are seen facing Tapu Koko in the scans below:
- UB02 Expansion (Pokémon Sun)
- UB02 Beauty (Pokémon Moon)
You might be wondering why those two Ultra Beasts have a name, but UB01 doesn’t. Well, it looks like there’s a reason for that, but CoroCoro doesn’t say what is. It just explains that it may have a “deep” meaning.
Finally, in the next issue, CoroCoro magazine will have details about Type: null, and will reveal its true strength.
Here’s the scans from CoroCoro magazine:
Pokémon Sun and Moon (3DS) comes out on November 18th in Japan and North America, and November 23rd in Europe.

Pokémon anime series
CoroCoro magazine also provides the very first details for the new Pokémon anime series, logically called Pocket Monsters: Sun and Moon (Pokémon Sun and Moon). Satoshi / Ash will travel all the way to the Alola region, where he will get a Z Ring. He will also get to meet Tapu Koko, the Melemele Island Guardian.
Quite surprisingly, it looks like Satoshi / Ash will go to school in Pokémon Sun and Moon, and his goal is to graduate “like never before”. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we know about this new anime series, which will debut in November.
