Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden – Update now available in Europe, download size

Update

The update is now available for download from the Nintendo eShop, in Europe. It requires 271 blocks / 33MB of free space on your SD card. It should be available in North America in a few hours (at the same time as the weekly eShop update).

***Dragon Ball Z: Extreme ButodenIn the past few months, Bandai-Namco released several updates for Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden in Japan. Those updates added new modes, and new assist characters, but also provided some game balance fixes, and more. And as we suspected, the company waited until all patches were completed before releasing them in the West as one big Software update.

Today, Bandai-Namco announced that the update was finally releasing today in Europe (and most likely in North America too). For those who didn’t keep up with the Japanese ones, here’s the content added with this update (along with balancing and bug fixes):

  • Extreme Survival: compared to the survival mode in previous entries, this one will have you fight against pretty much all the characters in the game, selected at random. Winning battles allows you to get precious extreme points: they can be used to get rewards (such as Extreme characters, much stronger than regular characters).
  • Internet play: you can now play with friends via the internet.
  • Training Mode: you can learn to pull off combo there. You can chose how your opponent behaves (standing still, moving, attacking, etc.).

It also adds over 10 new Z-Assist characters, such as:

  1. Son Gohan (Super Saiyan 4)
  2. Broli (Super Saiyan 4)
  3. Supreme Kai of Time
  4. Time Machine
  5. Vegeta (Dance, from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods)
  6. Goku (Cultivator, from Dragon Ball Super)
  7. Towa (from Dragon Ball Xenoverse)
  8. Mira (from Dragon Ball Xenoverse)
  9. and more…

Here’s a trailer for the update:

To download this update, you have several options:

  • launch Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden from the Home Menu, while being connected to the internet;
  • search for Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden on the Nintendo eShop;
  • use the option on the Nintendo eShop settings page.
