Genei Ibun Roku #FE: loading times comparison video

Genei Ibun Roku #FEGenei Ibun Roku #FE is finally available in Japan, on the Nintendo eShop and at retail. Just like pretty much all games, the disc and digital version of the games are exactly identical, with one exception: loading times. A fan got the two versions of the games, and made a comparison video to check out.

Here’s the video:

If you cannot watch it (right now), here’s the times (disc vs digital):

  • launching the game: 15s vs 9s
  • save file loading: 13s vs 10s
  • map travel: 13s vs 9s
  • opening the menu: 2s vs 1s
  • entering the shop: 5s vs 3s
  • exiting the shop: 9s vs 5s
  • starting battles: 9s vs 5s
  • battle ending: 5s vs 4s

Overall, the differences between the loading times of the disc and digital versions of the game should be within acceptable bounds for most players. It’s most likely for this reason that the developers didn’t make data packs like Xenoblade Chronicles X (especially since Genei Ibun Roku #FE isn’t an open world game). If you don’t mind going digital, then getting the game from the Nintendo eShop seems the best solution if you want the shortest loading times.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE (Wii U) comes out next year in Europe and North America.
