ARMS: all the details, videos, and pictures from the official Twitter account (May 29th to June 4th)

On May 17th/18th, ARMS was showcased during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, where the Global Testpunch was announced. Shortly after the presentation, the official website was updated: you can click here to check out all the details and pictures!

And also following that presentation, Nintendo increased the frequency of posts on the official Twitter account for the game (only available in Japanese). Just like we’re doing for Splatoon 2, we created this post in order to round up everything that gets posted on that Twitter account: details, screenshots, artworks, etc.. In this post, you will find all the updates for the period going from May 29th to June 4th.

Due to the sheer frequency of updates (several times every day, with lots of GIFs to boot), we’re switching to weekly posts to avoid slowing down the loading of the post (especially for users on mobile devices).

Previous posts:

June 2nd

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip of Min Min, part of the countdown leading to the second half of the Global Testpunch. Only a few hours left!

  • a video clip of Twintelle, which has been added to the second half of the Global Testpunch. She can slow down incoming punches using a special “aura”, which is activated at the same time as a charge.

  • a screenshot and details on how matchmaking will work in the second half of the Global Testpunch. Basically, players who got results during the first half will be grouped with other people who got similarly good results. Strong fighters vs strong fighters! In other words, if you found your opponents a bit on the easy side during the first half, then wait until you play during the second one!

June 1st

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip of the Trident ARM. It shoots 3 projectiles at the same time, and is great for players who have trouble aiming.

  • a video clip of Ninjara, part of the coutndown to the second half of the Global Testpunch. Only two days left!

  • a picture of a bowl of ramen, seemingly ordered at Min Min’s parents’ restaurant
  • a screenshot of Master Mummy quite obviously pretty excited about the second half of the Global Testpunch

May 31st

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip of the Toaster

  • another video clip for the Toaster, that shows one of the counter-measures for Mechanica: if you charge your punch with that weapon, you will knock her down!

  • a video clip showcasing the Hoops mini-game (playable in the second half of the Global Testpunch). Just like in actual basketball, there’s a 3 points line, and if you manage to get the ball your opponent through the hoop from beyond that line, you will get 3 points!

  • the latest countdown video clip for the second half of the Global Testpunch. Only 3 days left!

  • a video clip showcasing Skillshot, one of the mini-games playable during the second half of the Global Testpunch. If you break several targets at once, you can chain combos, and therefore rack up points more quickly. In other words, it’s recommended to use an ARM with a wide range, though it’s obviously not the only valid strategy!

May 30th

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip of Mechanica, which is the character who won the more matches during the first half of the Global Testpunch. It looks like the powered suit, which can withstand most punches without its users being knocked down, really made a difference. You will need to think of counter-measures for the second half of the Global Testpunch, if you want to win against Mechanica that is!

  • a video clip of Twintelle, part of the countdown for the second half of the Global Testpunch. Only 4 days left!

  • a video clip of the Ramen Bowl (Min Min’s stage), which will be playable during the second half of the Global Testpunch. It’s a circular stage, located just in front of Min Min’s parents’ ramen restaurant.

May 29th

Over the past few days, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a screenshot of Ribbon Girl;
  • a screenshot of Ninjara;
  • a screenshot of Min Min;
  • screenshots and details on how to change the colour of your fighter. On the character select screen, press the L stick, and push it up, down, left, or right, and finally, press the A button;
  • a screenshot that shows what to do when you’ve been knocked down. Move the Joy-Con in the way indicated on the screenshot below (8th one) to get up, and avoid getting caught up in a combo;
  • a screenshot that shows a special attack being activated. When you activate one, you immediately starts punching your opponent. Don’t waste a single second of it!
  • a screenshot of Spring Man facing Helix;
  • another screenshot of Ribbon Girl;
  • a new artwork of Spring Man;
  • a video clip of Hoops and Skillshot, two mini-games playable in the second round of Global Testpunch sessions;

  • a video clip of Ninjara and Min Min, which were the two most popular characters during the first batch of sessions of the Global Testpunch.

ARMS (Switch) will be released on June 16th worldwide.
