Yoshi’s Woolly World: a trailer for Mellow Mode and the Power Badges

Today, Nintendo UK uploaded another trailer for Yoshi’s Woolly World, which showcases two features meant to help players struggling with the game:

– Power Badges: those allow you to use special power-ups, but only during one level (you need to pay the required amount of beads in order to use one). They’re unlocked as you progress through the game, and they are quite varied: they allow you to summon Pooch, get fire immunity, use big yarn balls, find hidden items, and more.

There’s a lot of different power-ups in the game, and you can chose to use one at any time during a level: it’s quite useful if you’re struggling with a particularly difficult area, or need a little extra help in order to get a rather tricky collectible.

– Mellow Mode: in this mode, Yoshi can flutter at will. If you have troubles with some of the most tricky levels, you should definitely consider switching to this mode… though you do need to be careful, as you can still die in Mellow Mode.

Yoshi’s Woolly World (Wii U) comes out on July 16th in Japan, and October 16th in North America.
