Xenoblade Chronicles 3D: no japanese voice track in the EU/NA version

Ever since its announcement, there’s one aspect of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D that Nintendo never really mentionned: voice acting. While the various videos and trailers showed us that English voice acting was still present, there was no confirmation that the Japanese voice track would still be included.

Unfortunately, players will have to do with the English voices, as Xenoblade Chronicles 3D won’t feature dual-audio. Eurogamer confirms this in their latest preview for the game (which can be found here). The good news is: the full dub seems to be included, and Nintendo didn’t remove anything in order to save space (which is probably the reason why the Japanese dub isn’t included in the first place).

No reason given for that omission, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that the limited space was the main issue. After all, the game itself is roughly 3.6GB (Japanese version), and no doubt that having the two dubs + the French, German, Spanish and Italian translations would have required bigger (and more expensive) cartridges.

Here’s a gameplay video from Eurogamer:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D comes out on April 2nd in Japan and Europe, and on April 10th in North America.
