Ultra Street Fighter II: list of modes, Nintendo Minute

In less than two weeks, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will finally be released on the Nintendo Switch. If you’re in need of a refresher about everything this new version of Street Fighter II, you can check out the official website for the game: click here!

There’s nothing really new in there, but there’s still some useful details to be found. For example, here’s the list of game modes available in Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers:

  • Arcade (Single Player): it’s the iconic Street Fighter II game mode, where you travel around the world and defeat characters in succession;
  • Versus (Multiplayer): classic, Street Fighter action for two players;
  • Buddy Battle (Multiplayer): you and a friend team up in order to take down your opponent, controlled by the CPU. To do so, you can unleash some new two-player combos, and attack from both sides at once;
  • Online (Multiplayer): you can hop online to fight opponents to fight against, let them be friends or complete strangers. You have the choice between Ranked and Casual matches. The game also features online leaderboards, that track both the overall Player Points (global), and the Battle Points (character-specific);
  • Way of the Hado (Single Player): a brand new first-person action mode, where you get to use the Joy-Con to fight against the Shadaloo army. You can play only as Ryu, to pull off moves such as Hadokens and Shoryukens using motion controls (click here for more details);
  • Training (Single Player): that’s where you go to train, and practice combos before taking on other players;

The website also shares details about two features:

  • Fight Requests: an option that you can enable in order to allow nearby and online players to challenge you when you’re playing in Arcade mode. If you accept their request, they will jump seamlessly into your game!
  • Replays: you can save replays of your matches, in order to watch them back whenever you want. What’s more, you can even skip through rounds, allowing you to easily find something (like a really impressive combo, for example).
