Tribes of Midgard – Hotfix

  • Release date: August 30th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:

We have deployed a Hotfix to all platforms to address an improvement to the “Delete Save” function which will allow you to return to a World upon accidental use.

The “Delete Save” function’s purpose is to entirely clear your player slot from a World, to free that for someone else to join and is permanent. However, as you may know, we have seen multiple occurrences of its use accidentally, resulting in a “banned” message appearing.

So today, we’ve pushed a fix which will allow you to return to a World in the case of accidental use of “Delete Save”. There are two conditions which made this possible that we’d like for you to be aware of:

  • If you “Delete Save” during a game (in a World) you can re-join the World from Level 1.
  • If you “Delete Save” at the Main Menu, you can re-join the World from the Level you last Saved at.

If you wish to KEEP your player slot and return to a World with no issue, please instead use the “Save & Quit” button. This is the option you can use to safely leave and return to any World you’re in

Tribes of Midgard – Hotfix

  • Release date: August 11th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:

No patch notes available. This update brings the following to the game:

  • resolves an issue which prevents players who do not have a Premium subscription from re-joining their Worlds.

Tribes of Midgard – Ver. ??? (2nd Anniversary Update)

  • Release date: July 31st 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:
Features

Construction Limit Increase (again!)

  • As part of our continued efforts to work with you to provide more flexibility with the Construction system, the Construction Limit has once again been doubled since the previous update, making it, in total, approximately 20 times higher (!) than the original limit since we debuted this feature with Survival 2.0 last year. Build away!

Construction Gauge Update

  • A forewarned Viking is a forearmed one. In addition to greatly increasing the Construction Limit, we’ve also updated the Construction Gauge to better communicate when players are approaching the Construction Limit, including a marker for when you’re within 25% of hitting the limit.
  • Please note that we do recommend staying below this threshold if you wish to ensure the most optimal performance for your World.

Construction Efficiency

  • Walk speed while in Build Mode has been increased to fluidify Construction.
  • Players are no longer interrupted when placing each Construction, enabling rapid building.
  • The ability to place ground Constructions over water and lava rivers has been re-enabled.(Norsfell): Seeing our community’s ever-growing creativity unfold before our eyes is among our favorite things, and with this update, we wanted to do everything possible to facilitate that creativity by increasing limits, updating the gauge, and fixing any issues that may get in the way. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with next!

Survival: Training Dummy Construction

  • Players can now craft Training Dummies from the Constructions tab of the Allforge in Survival Mode.
  • Deploy the Dummy and start perfecting your build by tracking your Total Damage, last Hit, and Damage-Per-Second (DPS)!

Survival: Additional World Slots

  • Survival Mode now has 5 slots for Multiplayer (previously was 2) and 5 slots for Solo Play (previously was 1).
  • Saves are now configured by Slot number, so if a World is created on Slot 3, it will remain on Slot 3 until deleted.

Starter Kits Visibility

  • A handy Starter Kit button has been added to the Play tab on the Main Menu.
  • Players can use this button as a shortcut to see and select their own Starter Kits.
  • This feature will also grant visibility on what Starter Kits everyone else is using when playing in a Group. Yep, that’s right, that friend of yours will never start naked again (…we can hope).

Survival: War Chest

  • A War Chest has been added next to the Sanctuary in Survival Mode.
  • This War Chest behaves similar to buildable Storage Chests, but cannot be dismantled or moved.
  • Players who permanently leave the World will have their Inventories automatically deposited into the War Chest.

Cosmetic Loadouts

  • Players can now save and select up to 8 fully-configurable Cosmetic loadouts from the Customize tab in the Main Menu, to change your style on the fly!
  • Loadouts include your choice of Character options, Mount, Pet, Loot Chest, Protection Cosmetics, and Weapon Cosmetics — so let the fashion shows begin!
  • In Survival, a Loadout Armoire Construction can be built and deployed to access your Saved Loadouts from in-game.

Favorited Cosmetics

  • Players can now use an input to pin any of their owned Cosmetics as a Favorite.
  • Favorited Cosmetics will always appear at the top of your collections for easy access.
The Anniversary Festive Event (July 31 – August 21)

Two years have come and gone so fast. Time to celebrate with our Anniversary Event from July 31st – August 21st!

The Valhalla Menu, the Sanctuary, the Village, the Unsunken, and even the Goblins will be showing off their festive spirit, with some even donning the feathers of the enigmatic roosters. Enjoy the festive themed Main Menu music, complete weekly challenges, and our new Cosmetic offerings!

Festive Challenges

During the Anniversary Event, there will be 3 Festive Challenges that can only be completed during this limited time event.

Complete these Challenges to earn a unique (feathery) Anniversary Portrait and Cosmetic Currency:

    • Reward: 250 Platinum Coins
  • Challenge #2: August 7 – 13: Defeat Roosters x30
    • Reward: Chickem Supreme Portrait (Exclusive)
  • Challenge #3: August 14 – 20: Defeat Rooster Unsunken x40
    • Reward: 250 Platinum Coins
QoL Updates

Saga Quest View

  • Players can now view which Saga Quest they and others in the World have selected via the Map screen (visible in both Saga and Survival Mode).

Game Mode Information

  • We’ve added an input when highlighting each Game Mode on the Main Menu to provide a more in-depth description and visualization of the unique experience of each Mode.

Abandon World Name Change

  • Abandon World has been renamed to Delete Save to further clarify its purpose. Delete Save indicates that you would like to permanently remove a World from your World Slots.
  • (Norsfell): We understand the pain that this option was causing, and that a color change (in our previous update) was not enough – therefore to make things even more clear, we’ve changed this button wording to “Delete Save”. Please again note that this will permanently remove a World from your Worlds List, and you will not be able to join back. If you would like to leave a game in progress, and return at a later time, “Save & Quit” should be used instead.

Survival: Jötunn Arena Portals

  • A portal to the Sanctuary will appear upon defeating a Jötunn in their Arena. Returning to Eira has never been easier!

Raven’s Eye Blessing Camera

  • Players who have the Raven’s Eye Blessing active should now retain the maximum camera distance and not automatically zoom in when Mounting, fighting Trölls, etc.

Claim All Golden Horns

  • There is now an input to Claim All remaining Golden Horn offerings from the Rewards tab on the Main Menu (for those who’ve been hoarding too many).
  • Hold for Invasion
  • To avoid accidental Invasions when interacting with a Sapling, the Summon Invasion input now requires a Hold.

And even more fun stuff!

  • Improved flow of attempted password entry when joining a Private World, to not be returned to the Main Menu.
  • Harmonized the look of all progression bars in the Progress Menu.
  • When an Ancient is defeated, the Variant name is no longer listed to make it more immediately legible and improve readability across all languages
  • Claimed Allforges and Beds will now list the name of the Player who claimed them.
Cosmetics

    • Trú is a trusty Crow companion gifted to the Einherjar by the gods as a sign of faith in their mission to defy Ragnarök and save the Realms
    • All Players will have Trú added to their Pets collection for free!
    • (Norsfell): New players will have Trú equipped by default (while current players can equip via the Character Customization options) to achieve our goal of ensuring everyone has immediate access to the Autoloot mechanic via their Pet. Reminder that you can toggle Pet Display and Pet Autoloot options On/Off through Settings.

      • Unlocked with Golden Horns
  • Muninn
    • The other half of Óðinn’s famous raven duo, Muninn is a little too insightful for his own good, and harnesses his perfect memory to chronicle the many histories of the Nine Realms through overly theatrical and dramatic retellings.

  • Jörmungandr (Vilespitter) Hair Dye
    • Unlocked with Platinum Coins

Runes
New Rune
  • Power Within (Epic): Increase effectiveness of Blessings that deal active damage by (50%).
    • Unlocked with Golden Horns

(Norsfell) Inspired by the Blessing of the same name, we wanted a Rune that evoked mastery with abilities, but this time with Class abilities like Shield Throw and Ullr’s Step II. The goal is to open up builds that can focus on buffing these particular types of Blessings.

Rune Changes
  • Nothing to Wield (Rare): Increase the damage of Punches and Kicks by (150%), enabling resource harvesting with fists.(Norsfell): We originally intended for the Nothing to Wield Rune to give players some flexibility and potency when unarmed, especially in the early game. However, its impact on Blessings — most notably the Sentinel’s Shield Throw — was higher than anticipated. To refocus the intent of the Nothing to Wield Rune, we removed its impact on Blessings but greatly buffed its impact to Punches and Kicks. Further, as we liked seeing builds emerge centering on Blessing damage, we made a new Rune specifically for that purpose. We hope that this combined approach leads to even more build options moving forward.

Tribes of Midgard – Ver. ??? (Valhalla Saga Update)

  • Release date: April 11th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:

Features:

Saga of the Ancients Epilogue:

  • Witness the narrative conclusion to Tribes of Midgard’s campaign story arc that started back at our official launch two years ago.
    • Note: When playing Survival, remember to check in with Eira and her new Dialogue between each Saga Quest to learn more insights about your journey every step of the way.
  • As you defeat Fenrir, Jörmungandr, Surtr, and Hel in a Survival or Saga World, watch and listen as the stones react to your journey, and return to the Sanctuary after all are slain to gain access to a new mystery area.
  • This new area will take you through a unique, action and narrative-packed sequence culminating in an epic showdown with a brand new Ancient at its end
  • Survive the climactic confrontation to access a brand-new animated cinematic ending
  • If you’re feeling particularly bold, players who complete the full story in a Solo Survival World with Permadeath enabled will be treated to a special extended version of the end cinematic, representing the true ending.

Giddy-up, Einherjar — Mounts are Here!

  • Mounts have made their long-awaited debut, and just in time to assist the Einherjar on their journeys to take down all four Ancients and reach the epilogue.
  • Mounts are enabled by default, and each player starts with an Amber Horse. You can view your selected Mount from the Accessories section of the Customize menu.
  • When in-game, the Mount button is greyed out until you reach the Level Requirement for your Einherjar (LVL 10 in Survival, LVL 3 in Saga).
  • Once you’ve reached the prerequisite Avatar Level, simply hit the Mount button to summon your trusty steed from Valhalla and get going, offering a large 40% speed boost when traveling.
    • By default, mounting up requires you to hold the Mount button to activate. You can adjust between Toggle and Hold methods in the Accessibility Settings menu and adjust the Controls to remap the Mount button to your liking.
  • Mounts have their own HP bar that regenerates over time. If they’re reduced to 0 HP, you will be dismounted and enter a cooldown before you can Mount up again.
  • Many quick interactions, such as opening Gates, activating Effigies, or talking with NPCs can be done while still mounted. However, deeper actions such as Harvesting and Reviving will dismount you, but will not trigger its cooldown.
  • You can collect various Mount types from the Cosmetics menu. See Content section below for more details.

Survival – Permadeath Setting:

  • Now when starting a Solo or Multiplayer Survival World, you can toggle whether to have Permadeath active or not.
  • As it sounds, there is no respawning in Worlds with Permadeath enabled; you die and it’s Game Over, Einherjar — so die well.
  • When navigating a World list, you’ll be able to see which Worlds have Permadeath enabled.
  • Additionally, a label will appear in the HUD in game and on the Game Over screen.

Valhalla Level and Rewards Revamp

  • We’ve overhauled how new Rewards are unlocked. Rather than a Season Rewards track, Valhalla Saga features a new system focused on earning and spending Golden Horns to pick and choose the content you want.
  • Formerly known as Season XP, players will now earn Valhalla XP.
  • Functionally the same, Valhalla XP will increase your Valhalla Level all the way to Level 50, and for every Valhalla Level gained, you can claim offerings of Golden Horns from the Rewards menu.
  • Once you max out at Valhalla Level 50, your Valhalla Level will become ∞ and you can still accrue additional offerings of Golden Horns by attaining a level’s worth of Valhalla XP.
  • All Challenges previously requiring Season Level progress can still be earned through Valhalla XP.
  • All Gameplay unlocks requiring Golden Horns, such as Runes and Recipes, have been moved from the Shop to this new Rewards menu to better distinguish between unlockable Gameplay items and unlockable Cosmetic items.
  • As such, the Shop has been renamed to the Cosmetics menu to reinforce this distinction as well as reorganize the menu itself. You can return to the Cosmetics menu Daily to claim free Platinum Coin rewards.
  • New unlocks that would normally fall under Season Rewards track progression are now accessible by completing new Challenges, viewing the new Rewards section, and browsing the new Cosmetics menus, respectively.

Balance Changes

  • Ancient Runes Update

[Norsfell]: When we originally introduced Legendary Runes tied to each Ancient, we wanted to lean into fun utility associated with their themes. However, over time we felt this was not truly befitting a Legendary Rune, nor was it befitting the power of our Ancients. To make Ancient slaying more rewarding, we’ve added powerful new effects to each of their Runes, on top of reviewing their existing utility. Happy hunting!

    • Fenrir Rune
      • Reduce Durability loss on Equipment by [50%], and increase damage dealt by [100%] when under 50% HP.
      • Note: Durability loss was reduced from 100% to 50% to make way for the powerful new effect and avoid bypassing durability loss entirely with a single Rune.
    • Jörmungandr Rune
      • Enable infinite swim endurance and increase swim speed by [75%]. Increase HP by [50%].
    • Surtr Rune
      • Nullify hot Temperature effects, and prevent damage when swimming in lava (we knew you would want to try, have fun!). Increase damage dealt by last combo attack by [150%].
    • Hel Rune
      • Nullify cold Temperature effects, and increase movement speed by [20%] during the night. Gain [medium] Mana over time.
  • Combat
    • Survival: Small reduction of the autoscaling on Jötnar and Ancients’ Armor
    • Survival: Small reduction of the autoscaling of stats for Jötnar and Ancients as they Level Up
    • Small reduction of all Jörmungandr max HP and Armor
    • Small reduction of Doomhowlder Fenrir max HP
    • Moderate reduction of all Surtr max HP
    • Doubled the HP and damage dealt by summoned Unsunken Vikings
    • Increased Durability on all Melee Weapons by 10%
    • Increased Durability on all Bows by 20%
  • Crafting
    • Large Bones have been added to the loot tables for Skeleton Remains found in the Smoky Highlands
    • Kelp has been added to the loot table of Unsunken Warchiefs and Ash Beach Sapling defenses
    • All Storage Chests and Warchest have an inventory tab
    • Saga: Slight increase to amount of each Material deposited from Quarry, Lumberyard and Farm
  • Saga Quests
    • Saga Mode: Hvergelmir Serpents and Níðhöggr Tooth Chips can be purchased from the Ash Beach Sorcerer for 3,000 Souls
    • Hvergelmir Serpents required for Saga Quest reduced from 9 to 8
    • Saga Mode: Múspelite can be purchased from the Smoky Highlands Sorcerer for 3,000 Souls
    • Survival Mode: Golden Horn rewards for turning in Jötunn Trophies at Eira have been standardized to 2 Golden Horns each.
    • Standardized the amount of Event Fragments earned from completing Events for all Event types to make it easier to achieve multiple Saga Quest objectives.
  • Saga Village
    • Greatly increased health of LVL 2 and LVL 3 Gates
    • Moderately increased damage of default Arrows shot from Archer Towers
    • Moderately increased damage of non-explosive elemental Arrows shot from Archer Towers
    • [Norsfell]: Improving Gate HP, Extractor Materials, Event Fragments, Archer Tower damage, and similar changes are all in the combined effort to make defeating every Saga Quest in a single Saga Mode session more easily achievable.

[Norsfell]: We continue to look at Blessings tied to Class identity that we feel are underutilized or not as strong as they could be in order to help players carve out a more unique playstyle. This latest round should make the niche of every Class more fun to lean into and increase their viability across the board.

      • Quickshot: increased from 20% to 25%

  • Class Challenge Criteria

    • Seer
      • Reduced the number of Bifröst extractions required to unlock the Class by 50%.
        • This should make it not only easier to unlock the Class, but reduce the number of sessions that involve players leaving via Bifröst very early on in order to speed up their Challenge unlock criteria.
      • Required amount of Saplings to deploy reduced by 50% across all stages of the challenge
    • Warden
      • Required Runes to acquire reduced by 33% across all stages of the challenge

QoL Updates:

  • Status UI

    • Recognizing the pain called out by the community in tracking the various effects and timers, we’ve implemented a status effect section on the HUD that will show when a Perk/Buff/Debuff is in-effect and how much longer it will be in effect for.
    • Negative status effects are shown in red.
    • This should help keep track of your Temperature potions, Effigy buffs, and just how much longer you’ll have to endure Jormie’s vile poison.
  • Survival Storage Chest Dismantling Update

    • Storage Chests can now be dismantled again if they have items within, however, whenever a Storage Chest is dismantled or destroyed by any means, all of its contents will now drop on the ground nearby.
  • Improved Status Tracking on the Map

    • When using the Map, hovering over something buildable/upgradeable, such as a Villager Station, Gateway, or Extractor, will now display the remaining Materials required to upgrade them.

    • Jötunn health bars are now visible on the Map above their icons.
  • Abandon World Clarity

    • The Abandon World button is now highlighted in red, further spaced out from Save & Quit, and made into a smaller button.
    • Community feedback has shown that players may sometimes accidentally abandon their Worlds due to how the options are presented. We understand the issue and apologize for any prematurely abandoned worlds. Due to the weight of the consequences (Abandoned Worlds are lost forever), we wanted to improve the clarity and distinction between Save & Quit and Abandon World options.
  • Quest Presentation
    • When selecting your Saga Quest, we’ve added a number of visual elements to help distinguish them and make the selection of your next journey a little nicer to look at (still dangerous, but prettier!).
    • Personal Quests have received a similar visual update, and now even show the Quest NPC on the side panel so you know exactly who you’re looking for (especially helpful if you’re bad with names!).

  • Brave the depths of the coldest Realm yet! Face off against powerful Helthings and Draugr while gaining access to unique crafting Materials to forge powerful new recipes.
  • Take in the sights, enjoy the music, greet the squirrels, and raid the ancient stone mausoleums for loot! Just be careful not to overstay your welcome – it’s a long way from home.
New Ancient: Hel
  • Where there is Helheim, there is Hel. The notorious ruler of the dead has made her calculated appearance, and surely she’s up to no good.
  • Complete the Saga Quest to confront Hel and put an end to her schemes, but make sure you are prepared and well-equipped, for Hel fights unlike any Ancient you’ve faced so far – and don’t forget to crank up the music for the epic showdown like a proper Viking!
New Saga Quest: Witch
  • Hel has taken the fallen god Baldr prisoner for her dark plans, and it is up to the Einherjar to brave the depths of Niflheim itself to get him back!
  • Travel to Niflheim by finding an Undergate portal to reach the land of frost and shadow, but tread carefully, for Niflheim is our coldest and most dangerous Realm yet! Be wary not to venture into Niflheim before you are ready.
Farming System: Shovels and Essences
  • The Witch Saga debuts the ability for players to farm Ingredients of their choosing by digging holes with the new Shovel tool, planting Essences, then waiting for the crop to grow.
  • The new Shovel tool is accessed from your Build menu and allows you to dig holes just about anywhere!
  • Essences are a unique Material that can be looted across Midgard or earned from Personal Quests and act as seeds – magical seeds! Simply plant an Essence you’ve found in a hole you’ve dug, then watch as the timer counts down until your crop is ready to harvest.
Survival – Ancients Respawn and Grow Stronger

  • New Sub-Tabs were added to the War/Storage Chests to accommodate this.
Survival – Defense of the Saplings
  • A new discoverable in-game challenge is available for all new Survival Worlds – the Saplings.
  • Players can find Saplings, nascent Seeds of Yggdrasil, as they explore Midgard.
  • Planted Essences around a Sapling will grow at an increased rate.
  • However, just like the Seed of Yggdrasil in the Village, the magic of these trees is sure to bring danger.
  • You can trigger an invasion event at a Sapling, in which hordes of enemies will attempt to destroy it. Build defenses and fight well! If the Sapling survives the enemy wave, you’ll earn rewards and you even be able to upgrade the Sapling itself.
  • Upgraded Saplings will increase the rate at which your Essences grow.
  • There is one Sapling per Biome, and each will come under attack by different types of enemies – find and defend them all!

Balance Changes:
  • Crafting Station Dependencies
    • The location + Rarities of several Crafting Stations have been moved from their original dependencies to ease navigation/discoverability. Affected stations:
      • Ammunition Shelf moved to the Allforge from the Weapon Furnace
      • Potion Brewer moved to the Allforge from the Meal Cauldron. Rarity changed to Epic.
      • Defense Workshop moved to the Allforge from the Weapon Furnace. Rarity changed to Epic.
      • Artifact Altar moved to the Allforge from the Mining Stand. Rarity changed to Epic.
      • Tanning and Mining Stands moved to the Allforge from the Lumbering Stand. Rarities changed to Rare, max out Level now at 2
        • This will allow players easier access to these refining stations and help transmute the much-needed Yarn in the early game as well.
      • Boat Dock now requires Ancient Cores instead of Járnsaxa Materials.
        • This will allow players to never be stranded for too long on a beach
      • Jarnsaxa Loot modified to reflect this
  • Artifact Altar Costs
    • Costs to assemble Fragments from the Artifact Altar have risen.
    • Crafting Fragments serves as a shortcut/alternative route for those with the resources to spare, so with the ability to get all Fragments in a Survival World from completing objectives (+ now the Quest Board Station), we wanted to balance the Pros/Cons of these avenues.
  • Boss Upper Limits
    • Jotnar and Ancients will now cap at Level 10 in Survival Mode
  • Temperature Safe Zones
    • In Survival and Saga, Sanctuary is now considered a Temperature Safe Zone, in which you are protected from both Hot or Cold effects.
    • In Survival, an activated Portal Shrine will now also act as a Temp Safe Zone
  • General
    • Personal Quests with Merchant Map as Reward replaced by Outpost Map
    • Personal Quests with Shrine Map as Reward replaced by Sorcerer Map
    • Survival Mode: Jötunn Level Multiplier increased 1.5 from 1.2
    • Survival Mode: previously invincible constructions now have large HP pools instead
      • Allforge
      • Sindri’s Foundry
      • Freyr’s Ship
      • Heimdallr’s Tower
    • Decorations based off of defeated Ancients now require their respective Trophy drop to build. Take advantage of the Ancient Respawning for multiple decorations!
    • Jörmungandr and Surtr received Elemental Weaknesses and Strengths to their Armor Resistance
  • Runes
    • [Norsfell]: Our goal with these Rune changes is to provide more variety when it comes to high-damage builds. By strengthening many undertuned Runes, we hope that the end-result will provide a lot more build flexibility when tackling all stages of a World. We took a look at some of the Runes we’ve had since launch, as the game has changed drastically since then, and evaluated if their current values still make sense given the latest changes.
    • Harvest Boom range increased from 250 to 350 radius
    • Might of Mjölnir increased from 300 to 400 damage
    • Explosive Finale increased from 400 to 500 damage
    • Winters Wake increased from 200 damage to 300 damage
    • Making Waves increased from 300 damage to 600 damage
    • Ire of Oðinn increased from 10% to 15% damage
    • Ire of Thór increased from 10% to 15% damage
    • Arm of Ullr increased from 20% to 30% damage
    • Far Fetched increased from 20% to 30% damage
      • [Norsfell]: Buffing both Arm of Ullr and Far Fetched should help Bow builds stand out a little more when it comes to damage at all stages of the game.
    • Soul Keeper reduced from 25% to 15% Souls kept
      • [Norsfell]: A recent change was that players now only lose a percentage of their Souls upon death by default, making the Soul Keeper Rune much more valuable. We slightly reduced the number of Souls kept so that it didn’t mean that a single Common Rune could negate all Souls lost.
    • Soul Powered reduced from 5 to 2 damage per 100 Souls
      • [Norsfell]: The risk/reward playstyle of Soul Powered turned out to be much more reward than risk as the game received additional updates. We still enjoy the Soul-hoarding loop of empowering a Soul Powered Rune, but a flat 500 damage bonus per Rune at 10,000 Souls became both too easy to maintain, and far too powerful for a single Rune slot, to the point that it was invalidating a lot of other build options. To increase our goal of build flexibility, we have reduced the maximum damage to 200 from 500, which still grants it the single highest flat damage bonus per Rune slot, but now it fits much better with other Runes on your belt, and would require additional stacking to get to the levels that it was previously providing, rather than just needing a single Rune.
    • Pumped Up increased from 25% to 35% damage
      • [Norsfell]: With powerful foes and poison attacks now able to chip away at your Mana, it’s become more difficult to maintain a full gauge to benefit from Pumped Up, so we increased the power to compensate.
  • Classes
    • [Norsfell]: With this latest round of Class and Blessing balance updates, our goal was to increase build flexibility as well as hone in further on each class’s strengths and gameplay niche.
    • All Classes Weapon Mastery increased to 20% damage from 10%
    • Warrior Underdog range increased to 4 meters from 3 meters
    • Warrior Underdog damage increased to 40 per enemy from 20
    • Warrior Final Act chance increased to 75% from 50%
    • Ranger Ullr Step II Damage increased to 400 from 300
    • Guardian Ironclad I increased to 25% HP from 20%
    • Guardian Ironclad II increased to 50% HP from 40%
    • Guardian Pain Release II duration increased to 20 seconds from 5 seconds
      • [Norsfell]: We wanted Guardian to not only feel like a tanky character, but one that specializes in counter-attacking. Pain Release is a great ability that allows Guardians to unleash a flurry of fast hitting attacks after an AoE wave of cold and stun, but we felt the speed bonus was too short, making it difficult to enjoy the effects. The increased duration should make it much easier to travel from fight to fight and maintain the powerful buff.[/i]
    • Seer Tempered Aura range increased to 5 meters from 3 meters
    • Berserker Infernal Rage damage increased to 50% from 25%
    • Berserker Critical Hit I chance increased to 30% from 25%
    • Berserker Critical Hit II chance increased to 60% from 50%
    • Hunter Decoy Archer damage increased to 500 from 300
    • Hunter Decoy Wolf melee damage increased to 500 from 300
    • Hunter Decoy Wolf leap damage increased to 1000 from 600
      • [Norsfell]: Decoys are unique to the Hunter, but their low damage made them less impactful as the game went on. With a flat buff to all of their damage values, they become a force to be reckoned with in early game and have much stronger staying power as the game goes on.
QoL Updates:
  • Challenges Menu In-Game

    • We’ve added a Challenges tab to the in-game menu, where you can also claim your rewards!
  • Storage Chest Dismantling Failsafe
    • Storage Chests in Survival Mode can no longer be dismantled so long as there are Items remaining in their Inventory. This should help prevent accidental loss of precious loot.
  • Game Over Screen Improvements

    • Players can now view the profile of other players from this screen, and add them as Friends.
  • Construction: UX Improvements

    • Construction height limit increased to 9 from 5
    • Grid height now adjusts as player adjusts their own height
    • When in Build Mode, we’ve added an input to change the shape of the Deconstruction Cube, to give a better degree of control over what you want to dismantle and where
    • The see-through effect when obstructed by your Constructions has been fully revamped. You can now toggle a transparency effect from the Build Menu on and off if you need added visibility. This combined effort should make it easier to build your dream home just the way you like it!
    • While Build Mode is maintained, opening the Build Menu will now open the last Construction tab you were viewing.
    • These were all guided by feedback from the community and we’ll keep on improving the construction system in future updates.
  • Construction: Undo Button for Whoopsies
    • Now after placing a Construction, an Undo prompt will be available. Pressing the Undo button will immediately disassemble the Construction and refund it
  • Construction: Rarity Preview
    • When in Build Mode, the rarity of the Construction you’re about to place will now be reflected on the HUD
  • Construction: Camera Rotation Orientation
    • When rotating the Camera from Build Mode, the Mini-Map will correctly re-orient and reflect the player’s position and direction faced
  • Construction: Piece Dismantling
    • When dismantling or undoing a Construction piece, you’ll now receive the Construction piece as a loot drop, rather than the Materials required to build it.
  • Constructions: Visual Damage
    • Rather than showing a health bar for each Construction when it takes damage, we’ve added a visual effect to show degradation when a piece is damaged. You can still view the health bars when in Build mode.
  • Construction: Landscaping

    • Digging holes with your Shovel or placing a Construction piece over grass, a bush, or a resource node (like a tree) will remove that object. Further, enemies will no longer spawn on top, or inside of a Construction piece if one was placed near a spawn point.
  • New World Admin Options:

    • Trigger a Vote to Kick or Ban a target player
    • View the World name
  • Season Track Claiming
    • Rewards from the Season Track are no longer claimed automatically upon advancing Season Level. Players now need to claim them from the Rewards menu, harmonizing the behavior of other rewards.
  • Mana Gauge Thresholds
    • Once you’ve acquired enough Mana to fill a full segment, that amount is now protected and won’t deplete beyond that section when struck by a powerful foe.
  • Game Mode Listings
    • As the revamped Survival Mode presents a more play-your-own-way approach to completing Saga Quests, we subtitled it as Story Mode to better communicate this. Due to the reduced pressures of Survival, we’ve also put it first on the list of modes to highlight it as an entry point into learning how to play Tribes of Midgard.
    • As Tribes of Midgard has continued to add content in the year since launch, Saga Mode has really become a haven for those who appreciate the time pressure and the challenges that an impending Fimbulwinter brings. Due to this, we subtitled Saga Mode as Last Stand to better communicate the hardcore, roguelite nature.
  • Sorcerer & Merchant Maps (AKA Dwarf Divorce)
    • Sorcerers and Merchants get their own Maps now, and are no longer combined into a single Treasure Map (which would reveal one or the other).
  • Cat Tutorial Update
    • Sóleyra & Mániklo’s tutorial dialogue will now prompt in Saga Mode as well to help guide players through its systems.
    • Similar to new Loading Tips, we’ve added a number of new Cat Tutorials centered on new content as well as systems we felt could’ve been better elaborated.
    • Cat Tutorials can be disabled from the Settings.
  • Hideout Signage
    • Delving into Hideouts are now easier to navigate, thanks to some handy signage that points towards the exit on each floor.
  • Accessibility Updates
    • Vibration setting is now on a scale of intensity instead of On/Off
    • Added an option to toggle the Autoequip behavior of new/repaired Equipment On/Off (great for those Nothing to Hide/Wield builds!)
  • Idling in Solo
    • You will now no longer be kicked for Idling for a long time when playing Solo Survival or Solo Saga
  • Fish in Peace
    • Fishing spots will no longer be destroyed when the fishing sequence was interrupted by damage
  • Pet Autolooting Leveled Up
    • Souls, Season XP and Construction pieces are now included in what your trusty Pet will automatically loot for you.
  • Misc Improvements
    • Adjusting Body Type in the Customize menu is no longer a toggle, but a standard selection
    • Passwords are now displayed as you type them when attempting to access a private Survival World
    • In-game announcements are now played to indicate the start of Summer / Winter seasons in Survival. An announcement will also play in Saga to inform when Fimbulwinter will begin.
    • Outside of the standard saves, a routine autosave will now occur in the World every 7 minutes, down from 10.
    • You can now Toggle Realm in the Map screen to shift between Midgard and Niflheim
    • Altered the order of tabs in Allforge/Stations in Survival to better prioritize content
    • When starting a new Survival World, Recipes for the Tool Grinder, Weapon Furnace and Armor Loom are auto-pinned to ease up tracking (can un-pin from the Recipe tab)
