Terraria: update about Wii U and 3DS versions, footage

TerrariaLast year, when Terraria was announced for Nintendo platforms, it wasn’t clear whether the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions would launch at the same time. But in the end, the Nintendo 3DS version was the first to come out in December, via the Nintendo eShop. In fact, this version came out at retail even before the Wii U one was even released on the Nintendo eShop.

Last week, 505 Games gave an update on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game on the official forums. They revealed that the first post-launch content update for Terraria on Nintendo 3DS should be out before the end of the month, and that the Wii U version was almost ready.

Here’s what they said:

  • Nintendo 3DS: first post-launch content update. We don’t quite know what it contains just yet, but the developers explained that it would also include “fixes to the most pressing issues”, besides the new content. The update is expected to land at the end of the month. More details coming soon;
  • Wii U: this version took longer than the developers expected, but it’s finally ready. It should be submitted to Nintendo pretty soon, and should be available via the Nintendo eShop sometime in May.

Finally, here’s some video feature (with gameplay footage) for the Japanese version of Terraria on Nintendo 3DS:
